CT Live Show - Princeton, NJ, April 16 « Thread Started on Jan 19, 2010, 8:20pm »
OK, this is the show I'm going to. Princeton, NJ is holy ground for me for it was here on Christmas Day, 1992 that I first laid eyes on MST3K! I also chose this show because I have a free place to stay, free meals and free transportation! Sue me, I like to save money! Not only am I going to the show but I managed to convince my wife and my mother-in-law to go with me. (No pressure C.T., just saying ) Just bought my tickets tonight. I know one of you is going. Anyone else going to this show?

I've just bought tickets for me and six friends. None of them MSTies but all game for a good night out. You can find us in rows J&H, seats 13-19. That's about 10th row on the left side of the theater as you face the stage.
Hope to meet some of you there!
The center, orchestra seating was all sold out back to about the 20th row, BTW, if you're still making up your mind. Only 24 rows on the floor!

My tickets came in the mail last week. I am stoked and can't wait! Unfortunately I am going to have to have two non-MISTIES with me: My wife who is game, but skeptical it will be any fun and my mother-in-law who is a gem and whom I'm hoping to turn to the "dark side!" I won't be able to do any meet-ups until I get to the theater, but if anyone wants to meet me I'll be glad to PM a photo closer to time.

Four days and counting. All is in readiness. The tickets are in hand and I hope I can win over my favorite women (wife and mother in law) to the "dark side"

Princeton - date line Saturday, April 17th. One day after the show. I was there. They did "Genocide." A truly horrible Japanese SciFi epic the likes of which I never knew existed. This, this movie must have caused the Titans a lot of pain to sit through and formulate their show. They did not disappoint! What a fantastically funny performance they gave. Even my wife and mother in law were laughing (they are not fans) and so I didn' t feel I'd betrayed them. The movie was fantastically awful because it's always weird to see your culture through the prism of another culture...a cracked, blackened and distorted prism, but a prism none the less. I thought the performance of Torgo was the worst thing I'd ever seen an actor do until "Charlie." A terrific and fun night. I was sick for a lot of it. Cheap Spanish red wine and Indian curry did me in. I had to forgo the meet and greet at the end of the performance and make a quick exit because I had become a toxic gas bag and didn't want to subject the fans or the Titans to my emanations. Don't thank me, just throw money.

i was a little disappointed by the choice of films. Not because it wasn't funny, just because I had already seen them do it at their New Year's Eve show in PA. I was hoping for one I hadn't seen, like Alien Factor or East Meets Watts. But, hey, I guess that's more incentive to buy the DVD's. At least there were a few new lines. They even referenced the whole volcanic ash thing going on in Europe.
I waited about an hour in the line to meet them all. First time I've ever done anything like that. It was well worth it just to hear Trace do his Charles Nelson Reilly impression for the guy in front of me.
This is my second time seeing CT live, and even if it was almost all stuff I'd seen before, it was well worth it. I'd love for them to make more studio DVD's, but I could live with not having any more if I get to see them live once or twice a year. My only complaint has how awful the leg room was in the balcony, but I can't really blame CT for that.
1. Joel- Do you (or a fellow CT writer) really listen to Howard 100? If so, the next movie that CT riffs on, AND features a little person, please throw out an "Eric The Midget" reference...
Bix Dugan-- Yes, actually I do, and in “The Oozing Skull” there is a reference to “Eric the Midget”, but I guess you didn’t catch it. I sort of got my Dorro voice from listening to Fred Norris

I got to meet them in Austin last year so it was no big deal. I am not the kind of fan who collects signatures anyway. Without me in that line the fans who had never had the experience of meeting the Titans got to them that much earlier and the Titan's got to finish that much earlier. Everybody wins!
