The only reason I would personally consider doing another movie is this - after seeing the live show (which I intend to do), I would then have to avoid copying TWO sources of jokes. First Agony Booth's, then Rifftrax's. That might be a bit of an obstacle for me PERSONALLY when writing jokes. That kind of stuff creeps into my subconscious pretty easily, sadly.
If I can find some way to get around that, though, then I too am all for continuing.

I made it through the movie once and wrote riffs for the first maybe 20 minutes. But it's so painful, I'd almost rather watch the show on the 16th and never have to watch Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny again. Did someone say Killdozer?

Here's the somewhat official votes for "YES" or "NO" for continuing with the riff that I'm seeing so far...
mrmeadows - undecided Blue Raja - undecided dph - YES Skyroniter - YES Hellcat - YES Spackle - NO
Feel free to correct me if I'm misunderstanding anyone's post here.
Of course, if just a handful of people don't want to continue, that in itself will not bring the project down - it just means a few less writers, is all. But basically there's the bigger issue regarding whether most of us want to "compete" with Rifftrax's entry or not, and how it affects their ability/desire to write for it regardless.

My thought is that it seems kinda bad to quit if a couple members are already an hour into writing it. I think those member's opinions should carry a bit of extra weight.

Good points, guys. It seems like the majority of us still want to get this thing done, so unless I suddenly hear from a huge group shouting "NO," I'm not seeing a reason to stop now.
After hearing that Rifftrax's release of this will be only VOD, not live,, this will definitely help me when it comes to writing for the script myself. Had it been live, I would've been compelled to see it then. Now that it's downloadable, I can take my time seeing it.
Which means that I'm gonna wait until we're done writing this before I see it, so I won't have any joke-copying going on subconsciously.
(By the way - since they're doing a VOD of this, does that mean that the movie is officially public domain now, or has Legend acquired the rights somehow? I ask this because it will affect how we allow others to view OUR riff. Maybe I oughta ask on the Rifftrax forums...)

My problem is that I don't know when I will be able to find the time to sit down and continue writing the last half-hour or so (as I'm sure you know, it's quite time-consuming). At the same time, I don't know how long I can hold off watching the official RT VOD of the flick, since I'll be in the holiday mood. The problem with that is then it will make the writing even more difficult knowing what gags (bound to be better than mine) are in the official 'trax.
That said, I'm going to TRY to crank this out sometime next week, since I think I might have some downtime. I might not be as prolific with my riffs down the stretch, just in the interest of time. But I'm not going to watch the RT version before sending in my script, because if any of my riffs are repeated (or improved on), I don't want to have to go back and edit everything out. I'm going to send it as-is.

Well, I pulled an all-nighter and finished my script last night. Really wanted to get it in before the official one came out. So that load is off my chest!
Looking forward to seeing how the final project turns out!

Just went over mrmeadows' script, and lemme just say this: if we get this kind of effort from everyone that submits a script, this will be an awesome riff.
I'm gonna set up a soft due date for script submissions for FEBRUARY 26th, a Saturday. (Updating the first post of the thread now...) Hopefully that'll give us a goal to shoot for. If I can think of any decent incentive to submit a script by that date, I hope to make it available and known in good time.

Thanks, Raja! I did my best, but as you know this is such a nothing movie that I really found it difficult to write riffs for. Especially down the stretch, around the time the Ice Cream Bunny shows up. . .by that time my lungs were aching for air, and I really do believe something inside me died.
Come on, everyone! I know it isn't easy, but you can do it! Let's hurt this movie the same way it hurt us!
(I'm also very curious to see the "pros" take it on in a couple of days. )

D-OH!
I was snowed in and had cabin fever on the weekend, and after riffing on an episode of the Patty Duke show that was playing on TV, I thought, "Hey, I might as well give Santa a go". BUUUUT, I just found out the copy I riffed on is missing scenes - I'll get an official copy from sky after things slow down for the holidays and fix the time code and get that back to y'all before the deadline.
Sorry
BTW my Patty Duke show riffing consisted mostly of making up new lyrics for the theme song and when a gal comes on the screen wearing round, black rimmed glasses, I quipped "Cub Koda looks pretty good in a dress", and thereafter sang "Smoking in the Boys Room" every time she was around.
So that's an example of my lame riffing skills. lol

UPDATE:
The official due date for submitting your first main script is FEBRUARY 26, a Saturday for all you weekenders out there.
Of course, you can always submit your script after the due date if you wish, but if you do, you'll be missing out on a special bonus to those who DO turn theirs in on/before February 26th: 5 FREE DVDS FROM SKYRONITER.
Yes, you read that correctly, unless you're illiterate or something. As we can see yet again, Skyroniter's generosity knows no bounds. Well, except maybe the bounds of time, because of the whole due-date thing.
All we ask is that you do your best on the script you submit. I'm afraid that submitting some half-hearted one line script at the last minute just to cash in on 5 DVDs might be pushing our limits a bit.
Thanks again, as always, for supporting your government.
