 The WORST MST3K movie is...
« Thread Started on Dec 12, 2008, 2:22pm »

Simple, really - tell us what YOU think the worst movie ever featured on MST3K was!

"Worst movie" can carry all kinds of meanings to different people - to some, it's how it makes them feel - drained, bored, disgusted, suicidal - the list goes on and on. For others, it's how the movie was made - the horrible special effects, lousy writing, amateur acting, etc. And for still others - who knows what meaning it possesses?

But hopefully this poll and eventual discussion can settle once and for all what the majority of experienced MST3K fans can truly say in unison IS, in fact, the worst movie they ever riffed.

(Forgive me if this has already been done, 'cuz it does have that familiar feel to it - but I can't seem to recall in recent memory us ever having a decisive poll like this.... :-[)

I'll post my vote and reasons why once I've decided myself. ;D

On the list, Robot Vs. Aztec Mummy. It just is a flat, heavy, dark, life-draining lump of dull evil. I can see why the sweet nectar of Mexico called to the Brains while watching it.

Off the list, Castle of Fu Manchu. I watched it once and can't bring myself to do it again. The faded print hurts my eyes.

I beg to differ. For you see, the other raptors and I have constructed a crude suspension bridge to Venezuela. Once there, I shall lay low and assume odd jobs under the name of Mr. Pilkington. But perhaps I've said too much.

To constantly repeat the same action and expect a variant reaction is surely a sign of madness.

Of the choices offered, I'm going with Batwoman. That movie is absolutely Hypno Helio Static.

Manos is horribly made, and I don't even want to imagine watching it without Joel and the Bots commenting over it! I experienced really bad deep hurting when I first watched, but now I sit back and laugh at how crappy the film is. The one that made me feel the worst was Sidehackers, which isn't on here. I think that's the only MST3K movie I couldn't watch in one sitting, it's so awful.

Dave Walker Johnson is right!

But there are so many worthy candidates. I could just have easily voted for Robot Monster, The Hellcats, The Indestructible Man, Monster A-Go-Go, The Blood Waters of Doctor Z, or any of the Coleman Francis trilogy of crap.

If we're judging "worst" by "most loathsome", then TISCWSLABMUZ should win in a landslide. There's no way I could hate that movie as much as it hates me.

Yeah, there's many to choose from, and for a variety of reasons, so it's like an Oscar thing. And now, for the Worst Color Movie From Japan, our nominees are .......

And the winner is.... Mighty Jack!!!!

Racket Girls.

I can’t remember a damn thing about that episode. What is it about? What happens in it? Why do I always have one sock that’s inside out? I know that it starts off with a wrestling match or something but every time I try to watch it I black out and wake up days later in a dark ally somewhere dressed up in a Roman gladiator costume and covered from head to toe in smiley face stickers.

I won’t even watch Hobgoblins or Batwoman any more because I hate those movies so much they ruin the episode for me, but in my opinion the biggest sin a movie can commit is to be forgettable, and Racket Woman is a shining example of that sort of film. Or rather a dull, lifeless example I suppose.

Castle of Fu Manchu. The plot is convoluted, the colors make it unwatchable its just...awful.

While I agree with both Fu Man Chu and Manos, I gotta go with
those that say Creeping Terror. Technically, nothing is worse. Half
the movie turned over to narration, because the sound didn't take.

Creeping Terror is irrationally beloved by me--the music is a repetitive, horrible wonderland in the dance hall scene. I have no idea why I can watch it a million times and can't get through Mighty Jack once, but there you are.
