"Wild Rebels" cut scene. « Thread Started on Feb 29, 2012, 8:30pm »
I came across a non-MST3K version of WILD REBELS on YouTube & decided to watch part of it.
I noticed during the heist at the "Turd Museum", while Fats & Banjo are grabbing a bunch of ammunition it suddenly cuts to the shack with Rod annoying Banjo with the guitar. I figured something may have been edited out.
Sure enough, there was...and somewhat disturbing, too.
IN THE CUT SCENE: Banjo & Fats are grabbing ammunition the red box Fats pulls out (SERVO: 'LUNCH!') was in fact a box of dynamite. Now, the storeclerk slowly begins to come to & moans a bit. The two bikers notice it. Banjo decides he's going to "kick a field goal" & has Fats hold the old man's head. Banjo violently kicks the man's head (it is shown, too). The man's mouth begins to bleed as they turn him over & Banjo makes fun of the look of it "Lookit that 'lipstick'! *hur dur dur* See, the blood? Like lipstick". They then get up from the guy, grab a few more things & go to leave. Banjo spits a loogie on the now-dead (from busted neck, head trauma, probable blood choking & Linda's gunshot) man, go to the car the car pulls out into the camera, another "artsy craftsy" cut to the cabin where Steve Alaimo teases Banjo with the guitar we all know & love.
Also, there's a big race scene before the credits where Steve's car crashes where we begin the story.
There are other bits that seem to have been cut. I have to look at the movie more.
As goofy & silly as the movie is...as lightweight in sleaze, compared to SIDEHAKERS & HELLCATS as it seems, it actually is a tad more brutal and edgy than we thought, considering the true fate of the old Turd Museum/Bait Shop/Gun Shop/12 Century Setting clerk guy. Perhaps not "Rita Gets Brutally Raped & Murdered"-brutal but the murder in Wild Rebel was certainly a "Moral Event Horizon/Kick The Dog" moment (to use 'TV Tropes' terms).
There should be a list of movies MST3K screened & all the stuff they edited for time & content. Would be an interesting read.

Glad I didn't see that! The Wild Rebels and Gang/Biker movies in general I find a bit depressing in their brutality. Even with the MST3K treatment on this one I just can't bring myself to watch it much.
I was watching MST3K The Movie the other night and they must have cut a hell of a lot out of "This Island Earth" as the MST3K movie is only 73 minutes long with host segments and the original movie has an 87 minute running time!

It's crazy how chopped up the MST3K movie was. That said, WILD REBELS is the only one the the three that seems the least sleazy & the most fun (although, as I said before, the cut scene I mentioned kinda disproves that statement). It's an otherwise goofy movie with goofy musical numbers. It's like a teenybopper music vehicle trying to be a biker flick but coming accross as goofy. With the exception of the "head kick" scene, it's basically "Biker Movie Lite". There's no cussing, rape scenes, nudity, heavy drug use or other taboo-ish things....it's just a basic "lots of shootouts & robberies" thing. Very violent but very pedestrian....and there's cheesy musical numbers.

i still would love to see some Ward E type fan put together a compilation of all the scenes in the various movies that got cut out of the experiments. I have a feeling it would come across as something like Clockwork Orange meets Caligula by way of A Serbian Film.

It'd be even more messed up if you take into account the scenes from The Devil's Gift that didn't make it into Merlin's Shop.

Hoo boy! Considering SIDEHACKERS, SQUIRM, INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN, etc. I wouldn't be suprised.

I saw THE DEVIL'S GIFT once. I was a kid and had a tantrum over the downer ending.

I did a pretty anemic and ultimately unsuccessful search on Google for it, but I'm pretty sure there's a site that does this. I know I saw it a couple months ago after following a string of links that probably began at the main MST3k site.
It wasn't very comprehensive. In fact, I think it pretty much just listed some films that had their episodes released with an original, uncut movie included on the DVD.

When MST 3K The Movie came out, there was criticism about this, in that, and I'll paraphrase here but the gist of it was "They took a pretty good sci-fi movie, made fun of it and cut it".. I always thought the reviewer may not have gotten the idea of the show, but be that as it may.....I was able to see it in the theater with other MSTies, which was cool, but it wasn't a very full house

And on top of it.....THEY CUT A FANTASTIC HOST SEGMENT SCENE!
And boy was I wrong about which films he did. I just remembered Skydivers and Bloodlust being a part of the site.
That list is not exhaustive. For instance, it doesn't list Mitchell, and the scene where Deaney was killed by Mitchell was cut from the episode (Hey, wasn't John Saxon in this movie?)
