From SN:

Meanwhile if you're heading to Comic-Con in San Diego later this month, you probably already know that Mike, Kevin and Bill will be there promoting both Rifftrax and The Film Crew disks. Visit the Rifftrax blog for a complete itinerary:

That would be great to see. Unfortunately, I live in the useless land mass between New York And L.A. known as AMERICA. Forgive me if I digress, but I just hate the fact that everything seems to revolve around those two areas. What about the midwest, ya know America's heartland. I guess we're good enough to keep the country feed, but nothing else. Sorry, it's just one of my pet peeves.

Comic-Con is my lost city of Arandor, if I may use a vague Deathstalker analogy. I've been wanting to attend for years (and not just for MST/Rifftrax/Film Crew reasons), but I'm stuck on the east coast. Grr.

Here's a copy of my post from the RiffTrax board about my Comic-Con experience (think of it as the forum equivalent of stock footage):

Con was incredible this year, and the highlights were all RiffTrax/MST3K-related.

Got to meet Mike (I'm in the center, looking stupefied):

Got an Episode One poster signed:

And attended the Film Crew panel:

The panel was awesome. The guys were really "on" and the crowd loved it. They showed extended clips from the remaining Film Crew DVDs, and they look great.

It was also great to meet TorgosPizza and others from RiffTrax. Cool people all. Thanks for justifying my journey from New York!

Damn! Wish I had gone to the panel after all. I was in costume on Saturday (Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop) and as anyone can tell you, it's darn near impossible to walk 10 feet there without getting stopped for a photo, so I ended up missing them.

By the way, did they switch their name cards on purpose?

Yeah, for some reason as soon as they sat down they all swapped name cards.

It was really funny to watch them during the Film Crew clips. They were picking on each other over which jokes were working and which weren't. And whenever a joke was a hit with the crowd, they'd point (presumably) at the guy who wrote it.

Thanks for posting that, Josh.

Does anyone else have any reports, or know of any posted elsewhere? Pictures would especially be welcome. I found a couple more reports, including a video interview, which I collected here.

Thanks for the linkage, Hugh.

There are also reports in the Comicon thread at RiffTrax and one with some good photos right here, over in MST3K General Chat.

This may be a weird spot to bring it up, but that guy from the Mens Warehouse commercials reminds me of Kevin now. I only realized this today, when I saw the commercial.. I thought to myself "hmm, he's like a boring Kevin Murphy"

I was curious about the nametag thing too, sounds like something they would do. :)

My theory is that the director shot the whole movie without looking at it.

It's a very good sign that they're promoting the Film Crew DVDs. Did they mention anything about doing more? (since we all know that those 4 were made a few years back.)

Someone asked during the Q&A if they will be making more, and they gave the stock answer of "we'd love to, but we're gonna see how these four do first." They were also asked if they planned to do shorts on Film Crew DVDs ("Good idea!") and if they would consider doing Night of the Lepus ("We'll look into it - rights may be an issue.").

During the clip we were shown of Wild Women of Wongo, there's a Steve Irwin joke (I think it was in the online preview as well), and the audience actually booed. It was kind of awkward for the guys, since the joke was recorded long before Irwin died. But they didn't clarify that because I don't think they want to emphasize the delayed release.

Oh - and I forgot to mention the best moment of the panel, when Bill became Krankor for a moment! Mike even went into his "Wow, Krankor! GREAT to see you!" routine from the show. It was a funsplosion.

Ugh, well, that's a shame. I hope no one went away thinking less of them. I'm surprised that got such a negative reaction. Are Film Crew/Rifftrax/MST fans really that tasteful and sensitive? I'm shocked! :) I would've thought that they'd go back and edit out that line, honestly. I'm surprised that they haven't.

Thanks for the reporting and the links. I haven't looked at the Rifftrax forums as much.
