I've said it many times, but I'll say it again: Thanks, Sky. Sky can't get enough thanks, as far as I'm concerned.

The post office still isn't done sorting packages, so I'll have to walk back there through the rain later today.

Speaking of sneezing, there's a new strain of canine flu going around. Brett will have to get another flu shot before he can go back to doggie daycare.

Speaking of flu... I had it a couple weeks ago. Missed a week of work. Then I get a stomach bug. Feeling mighty puny these days.

This week has been garbage and it's only Wednesday. For example:
* My cable company dropped AMC (and some other good channels) because of licensing fees two weeks before the second half of the Walking Dead season premieres. My Sunday nights are screwed.
* The press where we print our newspaper went down causing major chaos at work. Schedules all scrambled, annoyed customers.
* Someone somehow got hold of my debit card information and ran up $500 worth of bills before I caught it. This is the second time in six months. The bank I have is has been pretty good at getting back my money, but this is ridiculous. Currently digging to see where and how this is happening, but I'm thinking about dropping the debit card completely, though I don't know how you do that in today's modern world.
Sigh. Someone get me to the weekend, please.

That sucks, Mod. I've never used a debit card fearing the very problem you are having. I stick with credit cards only.

hope you feel better soon, sky. and mod - wow! i never would have taken your card if i had known you would react so strongly.
but that sucks - twice in 6 months? that's terrible. i haven't really worried about that - that's the good thing about having bad credit - no one wants your identity. but losing AMC. i know how much you love TWD, so that had to be a blow. i lost AMC too, right before the mid season finale. it hurts - especially because i'll miss better call saul, too. that's no joke. take heart, though. the weekend is just around the corner. if you take the long way, take the bus and stop to drop off your dry cleaning first, but it's not much further away.

Welcome to my side. I haven't had AMC since season two of Walking Dead.

Woke up too early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Have had some level of insomnia for a while. It's only 7 but it feels like 11 to me.

There's nothing but howler monkeys and screech owls on every netflix channel, and they're all telling me to kill my family.

Have to work late. Leaving for work, garage door will only open part way, also causing garage lights to dim. Get the car out and go to work, come home, thinking it's an issue with the door opener itself. Going to make a bite to eat, but oven won't heat above 100 degrees (technically it doesn't heat at all, but thermostat doesn't read below 100). Thinking I've got current issues, I go to the laundry room and try to turn on the dryer. When I push the start button, the dryer does not start but the light in the laundry room goes out until I release the button. I mean, what the hell?I check my fuses. It's an old house but the vintage electrical system looks pristine and has always worked well. Can't figure out the problem. Figure I'll call the electrician in the morning. Half an hour later, looking through fridge, I lose power to the whole house. Call electrician, he checks it out and says the whole panel is dead all the way up to the meter. So I call the power company and they send a guy out. Takes him over an hour to find the place. He checks the meter, then checks the pole. He then tells me they think it's an issue with the buried line to the house. He said they would set me up with a temp line to power the house and then come back in a day or two to trench in a new cable. By this time it's 2:30 a.m. So I'm sitting around waiting for the temp line to go in so the power comes back on and I can shut down all the lights and so forth. That didn't happen until 5:30 a.m., when it was starting to get damn cold in the house (it was 10 degrees here last night). So now I have power, thank god, but I'm waiting for the power company to come and tear the hell out of my lawn to drop a new line in the ground. On top of that, the temp line appears to not power my garage, so I have to disconnect the garage door from the opener every time I want to go somewhere. At least I'm pretty sure this costs me nothing and it will be an upgrade to an underground line that has to be 50 years old or more. I have other stuff I could complain about that's on my agenda for this week, but I'll stop there. Thanks for allowing the vent, fellow board members
