I've only seen a little bit of Cheap Seats, and that was the MST3K cameo. They're good riffers, but Mike and the 'Bots outperformed them. I still love the show.

I'm bumping this thread just to give folks a heads up that repeats of the show are back in the ESPN Classic lineup.

Cuz I don't think they air them that way anymore at all. I've never seen one. I've been DVRing them and watching them off and on. I've come to like them quite a bit.

I've got all the hour long ones now. Some were transferred from VHS and are only fair to good quality. A couple are straight from DVR. Send me a pm and maybe we can work out a trade.

I'm a fan of CS from way back in the hour-long days! If you're missing any hour eps, you'll have to trade for them. ESPN Classic chopped the hour shows down to an 1/2 (and in some cases like the "Stanford Vs Cal" episode adding and fixing old jokes) so I'll bet they will NEVER air them in their original form again. In fact, I got my copy of the hour-pilot ep by writing to the show back when it was still in production. I taped their first Thanksgiving marathon (another MST tribute) and they aired everything they had EXCEPT the hour version of the pilot (just the 1/2 version). It was right around this time when the show changed formats, too. Because the marathon had both formats, but the weekly time slot was turned into two 1/2hour shows together. I'm typing as I'm remembering this. So I wrote the show and said I had every ep on tape except the hour pilot (true for it's time). Someone (who wasn't a Sklar) read my message, informed me that ESPN Classic was not going to air the missing show any time soon or ever, and then mailed a vhs copy of it to me for free! Nice people. I still watch the reruns, but I'm also a fan of Aqua Teen and sometimes those schedules don't mesh. Good show, though. Very ambitious MSTies those Sklar brothers are!

Wouldn't you guys rather spend your time watching MST3k instead of this half-assed attempt at comedy? I don't get the appeal of this show, other than people wanted something to fill the void that MST3k left and this was the "next best thing".

I disagree with your assesment of Cheap Seats. It wasn't an attempt to fill the MST void for me. I find the show is truly funny and there are many LOL moments in most episodes.

I thought it was great, too. I don't get how sports work, and I could still watch it and impress others by watching an ESPN channel. Win win. Plus Michael Showalter was on it. Rroowwrr.
