Just watched it. I'd say it's the same as the first in the sense it's still finding it's feet, but looks to have the potential to be something really enjoyable. And that cartoon, my word! talk about PR piece. it made The Starfighters look subtle.

Although I don't think the show is quite there yet, I could really see myself getting addicted to this.

Although I don't think the show is quite there yet, I could really see myself getting addicted to this. If only for the cartoons! Add in Frank though and I already am. I can see this getting alot better over time. Remember how crappy MST3K was when it started and look what happened.

I have to say, for all its current shortcomings, I love the concept of the show. It's a perfect anti-kids show. Dark, depressing intros, then an utterly awful cartoon. Well done.

It's absolutely brilliant. Everyone round these parts should be watching it, chock full of fun and stupidity. I love the internet for bringing me things like this.

Hi! Cartoon Dump co-producer Jerry Beck here. Just a note on our August 28th CARTOON DUMP live show at the Steve Allen Theatre in Hollywood: In addition to a performance by Frank (as Moodsy Owl) and Joel (and his new puppet, Dumpster Diver Dan), Trace Beaulieu will be attending the show (not performing). If you are a MST3K fan in the Southern California area, I think you will have a very good time at our Cartoon Dump live shows. The live shows will NOT be recorded for future podcast (though I'll have my own video recorder fixed on the stage for a reference copy of the show). We are planning a new show every month - and a special Christmas show in December. New podcasts will resume either later this week or next week (we recorded six episodes - only two have been put online as of today). We liken these early podcasts to the KTMA shows - very rough versions of the show we have in mind... the best is yet to come. For ticket info click here: www.steveallentheater.com/cartoondump

Wow, that sounds like a good time. To bad I live no where near South Cal.

Shamefully I don't even live in the right continent to come along to the show, any chance of a little leak of your reference vid online at some point? ;D

So did anyone on these boards get a chance to check out the live performance? Please discuss, if so I'm very curious to hear what happened. And I'm enjoying cartoon dump so far btw. Looks promising, but has a ways to go - I'm in the camp with the folks like trumpy that said stuff like it's still finding it's feet, but looks to have the potential to be something really enjoyable.

The first two episodes feel like a rehash of a rehash of a rehash. Grown-up kids shows have been done a million times before (Wonder Showzen being my favorite). The host is all right but I get that feeling from Frank that I did during MST3K. That feeling that he's always winking at the camera. He always has a smirk on his face like, "Heh, get it?"
The cartoons are pretty funny and the second episode is definitely an improvement over the first, but the political jokes are so heavy-handed. I was half-expecting them to start talking about lying and then say, "Lying can get you in trouble. Just look at Bill Clinton! Whooooooa! We're sooooo edgy!" Try some subtlty next time, Frank.

Wow - as if it couldn't get any cooler, you throw Dana Gould in the mix!
