101- The Crawling Eye SYNOPSISMOVIE REVIEW: Goofy plot, cheesy special effects and laughable creatures make this a fun episode. The plot really makes no sense with all the decapitation of the eye creatures. Are they jealous of the two eyes? Do they want their hair? If so will they put it on the top of their octopus head or make a merkin? The special effects are funny, favorite part is when and eye creature attacks a man on the outside. They go from a shot the man in front of the door, to shot a of “him” (obviously HO scale doll) being lifted to the top of the building by the creature. I have to admit the Eye Creatures are creative but extremely dumb. They are so laughable, it’s amazing no one had the guts to tell the director they were horrible looking. EPISODE REVIEW: A good episode to open the national series. The riffing was superior to the host segments. Plus the movie was fun enough to make it an enjoyable experience. They had a lot of good one liners going but too many puns in the episode. Some of the puns are funny, other just are dumb and they seem to know it but use it as filler. The host segments started well with the invention exchange, the electric bagpipes had me laughing pretty hard. But the rest of them were a little lame, many of them were character development skits. The first was suppose to show that the bots don’t know what it’s like to be human. The second segment what Gypsy was originally, Joel had built Servo & Crow as his equals almost but Gypsy was more of a pet. The third was a lame conversation about ‘The Crawling Forrest Tucker’ although Crow gets a funny one liner in the end “I think we’ve analyzed the plot more than the writers did.”. The final segment is a bit amusing with the good thing-bad thing. Overall a good episode for either casual MSTies (who want to see the first episode) or fans of cheesy movies. TINY TRIVIA: Although it’s kind of unfair comparing this to the final episode of the series, I thought it would be interesting. Really they are two different shows but I’d like to show how much the show improved in the course of 10 years. Diabolik riffsServo- “The Crawling Eye, the Marty Feldman story” Mike- “Forest Tucker, he makes sure the trees coat tails are in”Actual Crawling Eye riffsJoel (in deep voice)- “The Crawling Eye” Servo- “Starring” Crow- “Should be the Crawling Knee” Joel- “Forest Tucker he’s from F-Troop”INSIDE THE DIRECTOR’S MIND: “Okay octopus plus BIG ASS EYE, that’ll scare the poopie out of everyone” FINAL RARING: ****

104- Women of the Prehistoric PlanetSYNOPSISMOVIE REVIEW: It sounds like it could be tolerable, maybe a ‘Cat Women on the Moon’ or ‘Nudes of the Moon’ like exploitation film. But there is just 1 woman on the planet. She’s pretty good looking but that mood is killed by the revelation that she my great (X1 million) grandmother. But a great mix of things make for a fun ride: bad special effects, horrible lead, Pauley Shore like comic relief character and a cheesy plot. The puppets are very laughable, especially the snake which is the main animal in the story. Wendell Correy seems like me after a lot of beers- deep voiced and only a 50% understanding rate. Pauley Shore- Version 1, aka ‘The Hi Keeba Ha Guy’, did a lot more than that, he annoyed me throughout the movie and never had a funny line (I think he was the inspiration for Hobgoblins or Angel’s Revenge). Overall a good cheesy movie, but a bad bad movie. EPISODE REVIEW: A very good episode, solid riffing, cheesy movie, but a little lacking in host segments. The riffs were good although nothing truly classic. The cheesy movie, that of course gave us the advent of the ‘Hi-Keeba, Ha’ riff. But as I mentioned earlier, it lacked in the host segments with them involving the Issac Assimov Doomsday Device. TINY TRIVIA: This episode involves a first and a last. Mike’s first words in the second host segment, where he provides the voice of the Issac Assimov Doomsday Device. Plus Dr. Erhardt’s TRUE LAST WORDS, not the “goodbye” from episode 113. Here they are: (Singing) I think I’ll file this thing for you As I always seem to do I like working for you Clay cuz you’re a really neat guyINSIDE THE DIRECTOR’S MIND: “Okay, this movie is great, but we need a catchphrase. Oh, I’ll add a comic relief character, he can go ‘Hey, Cabbage, Hey’ or some poopie like that” RATING: ****1/4

Sorry about taking so long, I've been busy for the last week as it's been the end of the trimester. But this Friday, I have no homework (and no worries as I get rid of all the teachers that hate me) and a 3 day weekend. Plus Spring Break is coming up and I'm a total loser, so that could open sometime.

106- The Crawling HandSYNOPSISMOVIE REVIEW: I actually turned over the DVD disk so this is a completely legit movie review. The plot is some incredibly stupid it makes the movie a ton of fun. I could use the entire review on how many plot holes there are in the notion of a Crawling Hand but I won’t waste your time with that. I suggest anyone who has the DVD of the episode to turn it over and take a look at a fun movie. Anyway on to the review, this movie is another fun cheesy movie that are all over season one. The main character is, as Crow says, “The Beaver without a Cause”, not just because he LOOKS like a cross between them he ACTS like them too. The best part of the movie is his hot Swedish Babe girlfriend (who did a nude scene for foreign markets which Rhino DIDN’T include). The Beaver overacts way too much, which is basically to this movie, what Criswell’s narration is to Plan 9. The other scenes involving the scientists are kind of dull but are really the basic plot points. Also the Skipper plays a cop, which you can’t take seriously if you’ve watched a part of an episode of Gilligan’s Island. The entire notion of the Crawling Hand is incredibly ridiculous on so many levels, it makes this a must see. EPISODE REVIEW: Another cheesy movie makes this an enjoyable ride. The William Shatner host segment is hilarious. The rest of the host segments aren’t really that good. Also I can see why they got rid of the good thing/bad thing part of the show. The invention exchange was okay, I still need to get a tape of Joel’s comedy act, but I’m too poor to fork out the dough (dough as in money not Mighty Jack ). Overall a pretty good episode, despite some poor host segments. TINY TRIVIA: Most people say at the beginning of every season one episode during the credits you can see the top of Trace Beaulieu’s head and Josh Weinstein’s side. But it’s not Trace’s head, it’s Jim Mallon’s. You can tell for two reasons 1) Jim has a wider head than Trace and this is just to me obviously Jim’s forehead, 2) You can only see the top of his head when Gypsy pops up. INSIDE THE DIRECTOR’S MIND: “Wait a minute, how does the Crawling Hand know where it’s going? It can’t see. Oh crap and I forgot how does bleed, it doesn’t have blood pressure? Dammit, I wonder if anyone is going to notice? NAAAHHHHH.” FINAL RATING: ****
