I'm proud to say I've seen almost all of those. And while I would agree with most of them, there do seem to be a lot left out, and why some kinda "mainstream" movies like Shawshank (which I really liked, but still)?
I voted Bubba Ho-Tep. Holy crap, was that funny.

Carnival of Souls (1962) Night of the Living Dead (1968) A Clockwork Orange (1971) Harold and Maude (1971) (#4) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) (#25) The Exorcist (1973) The Wicker Man (1973) Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1974) The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) (#6) The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) (#2) The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) Dawn of the Dead (1978) (#27) Inferno (1978, It.) Martin (1978) Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979) The Shining (1980) Ms. 45 (1981) (aka Angel of Vengeance) The Evil Dead (1983) (Trilogy: Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn (1987), Army of Darkness (1992)) The Man With Two Brains (1983) House of Games (1987) Raising Arizona (1987) Withnail and I (1987) (#35) Heathers (1989) (#41) Closet Land (1990) Wild at Heart (1990) Barton Fink (1991) The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995) The Usual Suspects (1995) Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie (1996) Henry Fool (1997) Requiem for a Dream (2000) Donnie Darko (2001) Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001)
These are some of my favorites from the other list. But I can't believe they put Dario Argento's "Inferno" instead of "Suspiria," and while I love "Henry Fool," I think I would have picked another Hal Hartley film, like "The Amateur" or "Trust." But that's just nitpicking.

The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) See, Forrest, another one who likes it! LOL (I've been trying to convince the guy it's a pretty great film.) I just saw Donnie Darkie a few weeks ago and loved it that one, too. You're right about "Inferno." "Suspiria" or "Deep Red" are better choices.

But the book (in fact any book) by Walter Tevis is better.

LOL I really like some of Tevis' work. "The Hustler," "The Man Who Fell To Earth," "Queen's Gambit," etc.

Is it bad that half my DVD collection is that list?

Is it bad that half my DVD collection is that list? No. I'm more inclined to think there's something wrong with people who don't like any of those films. Your average bear is satisified with shoping at Wal-Mart and seeing the latest Nic Cage/Bruce Willis action flick.
