Oh, and not trying to be a complete moron, but what the heck is the Q-word? I think that's the word some use to call gay fellows. No, it was supposed to be a joke. I wasn't thinking of any particular word. But if it makes you think of Q-words you don't like, then by all means, don't use them.

Wow where to start lets recent movies I'd say any movies based on TV shows(Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo 2, Charlie's Angels was sort of a comedy I guess). Problem Child movies, Crossroads, Spice World, Rhinestone, Mannequin, Hercules in New York, Bio-Dome, White Chicks and the list goes on and on.

Movies mentioned so far I disagree with: Ace Ventura 2 was better than the first. That is, of course, just me. Forrest, you think Fahrenheit 9/11 was a comedy?! If so, I really hate Michael Moore now.
I have to commit blasphemy now and mention two movies the AFI has orgasms over every time they think about them: The Graduate and Tootsie were two of the least funny movies ever made. Dustin Hoffman is a fine actor; as lovable rogue Jack Crabb in Little Big Man, he was fine; as the autistic, distant Raymond Babbitt in Rain Man, perfect; as the quiet, then violent David Sumner in Straw Dogs, great... but he is not, repeat NOT a comedian, no matter how much the AFI demands he is. End of story.

I hated the Rush Hour movies as well as everything else I've seen Chris Tucker in. Glad I'm not alone in hating Chris Tucker. (I just hope he doesn't "unretire" and start making movies again.)

This thread is crazy. I agree that the Farrley brothers make crap movies. I agree about anchorman, and just about every other Will Farrel movie. And I agree with Team America. I have nothing new to add.

Anything featuring post-1980 Saturday Night Live alumns is pretty much worthless. There may be exceptions to the rule, but few and far between, I'm afraid.
(I finally realized why SNL is so bad. They don't have actors anymore, just people who call themselves comics. The original group (The Not Ready For Prime Time Players) were character actors (except Chevy Chase, who they are still trying to figure out). They created characters that we could identify with and enjoy, as opposed to the later generation, who do nothing.)
As much as I hate to disagree with anyone, I found the Ace Ventura movies as funny as a fatal case of colol-rectal cancer.
And what about the Police Academy franchise? There are some films that MST3K certainly could have done.
(And I have to say at this point that I found the original Poseidan Adventure (sp?) hysterically funny.)

I'm not too terribly critical when it comes to comedy. I don't make any pretentions to being high brow in my comedy tastes. I've enjoyed certain movies that prominently feature Pauly Shore (Encino Man, Son in Law) as well as just dispised some (BioDome, Jury Duty). Same can be said for Sandler, Carrey, Schneider, Ferrell, etc.
As far as my 'worst comedy films' of recent memory. Kicking and Screaming... ugh. I think Will Ferrell can be a funny leading man. Anchorman isn't a great movie, but it does grow on you with repeat viewings. This one just stunk tho. Ferrell phoning it in is just bad bad news.
Speaking of 'bad bad'... the Bad News Bears remake had little in the way of redeeming qualities. Of course, the original didn't either with 10 year olds drinking beer and whatnot. Still, I have a softspot for the original. I watched it a ton growing up and I was probably biased against this remake from the beginning. Billy Bob couldn't hold Matthau's jock as far as the role of Buttermaker. Just didn't didn't get enough laughs.
The Animal with Scheinder is probably one of the worst comedies I've ever seen. Now I think Scheinder can be likeable, I thought the first Duece Bigalow was enjoyable. Beyond that, he hasn't done much and The Animal is probably his lowest.

You've Got Mail is not a comedy. It is an anti woman anti thinking pile of Q-word.
Please see my rant over at "Movies that make you angry" thread.

Oh, and not trying to be a complete moron, but what the heck is the Q-word? I think that's the word some use to call gay fellows. You know...like "Q-word Eye For the Straight Guy" Anyway, I can't agree with most of these because I haven't seen most of these....I guess I just know to avoid anything with Adam Sandler (or produced by him), Pauly Shore, a cast member of SNL after the originals left or Jennifer Lopez ( Gigli and Monster-In-Law were suppose to be comedies). However, I have suffered through Who's That Girl with Madonna....complete garbage. And I have seen The Master of Disquise and Dude, Where's My Car because Brent Spiner was in both. Bad. Very, very bad.

First Family, a very unfunny comedy with Bob Newhart and some ex-Saturday Night Live. Ishtar. A leaden "comedy" from Nora Ephron. Ephron is talented but has no idea how to compose a comedy.
