I would love to see the original ending to Double Indemnity, where the main character is sent to the gas chamber. Unfortunately, the ending was deemed to gruesome so it was changed. All that survive are production stills.

Re: Metropolis. Turner Classics is running a 153 minute version of it Sunday Night the 14th. (Actually Monday morning.) The Kino version is 124 minutes....how is that possible that TMC has one that runs a half hour longer? Assuming they're just not leaving the title cards up longer for slow readers.

Does anyone know if the "restored" version of "A Star Is Born(1954) is available on DVD? I seem to remember it being on cable with some restored footage and stills where they couldn't find footage, or am I mistaken???

"# 3 Alternate Filmings of The Man That Got Away, Incorporating Additional Original Recording Session Music # Deleted Musical Number, When My Sugar Walks Down the Street" There's also this one used - but it looks like all the same video.

Lost Spider Pit sequence to the original King Kong. In the Deluxe DVD version Peter Jackson redid this using old techniques and cutting into the film. Not bad though Jackson kind of gets into his movies sometime a little too much. Another film I would love to see the lost footage for is the 1937 Lost Horizon. I love Frank Capra and would be very interesting.

I heard the theater version of Ravenous had a ton of extra footage compared to the rental / DVD release. I wish I could see that - Ravenous is such an awesome movie. But considering how well it did in the theater and subsequent purchases I don't think they'll do another DVD release.

Some were on the DVD in the deleted scenes but there were more/ I bought it when it first came out and it has the director's cut. Great film. And they wouldn't let them film the ending of Suspicion because she lets him murder her because she loves him so much. The original ending of Freaks had the strongman being casterated.

Damn, Chuck, you're the man. I didn't know that about Freaks. That was a good movie, although I felt a little uncomfortable watching it, because those were real people.

The first movie I ever saw in the theater; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The first movie wasn't meant to be a cash in on the cartoon/merchandise phenomenon, but rather an adaptation of the black 'n white indie comic book, as such the film is much darker then your average kids movie. When it came to releasing time their were a few scenes that they decided were too intense/violent and were cut because of the huge kid audience that would see the film.
These include a scenes with Michelangelo freaking out when they flee to the farm in the country. He locks himself up in the barn and does nothing but train, in contrast to the carefree persona he's displayed so far in the film.
The final fight with Shredder was twice as long, and included a resolution to Rapheal's subplot about him trying to control his anger.
What else? Hmmmmm.... I'd love for those lost episodes of Doctor Who to be found in the back of film vaults in Asia (their probably are some there).

The original ending was the trapeze artist in on display and then they show Hercules singing soprano at the same sideshow. If you listen to the commentary on the DVD, Skal says there were also scenes of the seal trying to get "romantic" with the "Flipper Girl"....

The storm shelter sequence and original ending to MST3k The Movie. Yeah I know they aren't lost, it'd just be great to see them not zoomed in on a screen from an audience camera with audience noise clearly audible and then transferred to dvd from a 10+ year old video tape. Another one would probably be the original ending to The Mole People. God, that is a boring movie. Maybe it would benefit from a more upbeat ending. Oh, and anything cut from the American version of Prince of Space. I just love that badly shot, badly dubbed piece of crap.

I had no idea there was like a noir version. Hahahaha.
