Toasted Peanut Butter Sandwich? You mean like a grilled cheese, but with PB instead of cheese? My mom used to make those. I thought she was the only one ever to make them. My mom used to make those! How funny, because no one else I know has ever heard of it, so I thought she was the only one, too

Okay, I have a quick question that I need to ask before trying this: how do you make your grilled cheese sandwiches?
I mean, I know people who just put a cheese sandwich onto the grill for about ten minutes, I know people who add butter, I know people who like to get fancy with exotic peppers from France...my method, for instance, involves butter in the pan, grill two open-faced cheese sandwiches at once, put them together, add some salt and pepper, and enjoy.
However, I think I'd like to know your mother's method of grilling peanut butter before I begin experimenting (I get a weird taste in my mouth just *imagining* peanut butter and dairy butter at the same time (yes, I know that I've probably had it before in a quantity that I didn't notice the dairy...but still)).
Oh, wait, better idea....new thread for recipes! I'll go start it!

I agree that it does depend on what you are waiting for....a doctor's appt: as long as I need to. Doctor's have little control over their schedules after their first appt and they are often sandwiching people in who are very sick and need to be seen.
My friends all know my cell phone number and I figure if they are late, big deal, they can call me to let me know what happened. Depending on what we have planned I either wait until they show or go do my own thing. Their lives are as crazy as mine and occasionally we get our wires crossed.
For a professional appt like an interview or bank loan, I wait 15 minutes. If they are still not able to see me, I will politely let them know that perhaps another day will work better for them and reschedule. My time is not just valuable, but precious.

As is mine. Fortunately I did homework while waiting, which is why I think I waited so long before deciding to leave (once I get on a homework roll, it's hard to stop).

Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Place sliced cheese (American usually, but my mom always had Velveeta on hand) between two pieces of sliced bread. Lightly butter the outside top & outside bottom of raw sandwich. Place onto pan, pre heated to medium/ medium hot temp. After a minute or two, check doneness, and flip. Wait another minute and enjoy! Note: for Toasted Peanut Butter Sandwich, substitute peanut butter for the cheese. My mom used a waffle iron, using the flat side of the grills. It made "compressed" versions of above sandwiches.
