I'm not sure if one of the mods or admins wants to make this a sticky? This could be a simular thread to the one thats in General Chat.
Anyway...I just finished watching Cocktail w/riffitrax. I must say this one was really good...on par with Road House (my fav so far). It just seems like the cheesy 80's style movies are what Mike riffs at the best. I guess because they are so silly to begin with and are laughable on their own, without Mikes comments.
Lots of good tastefull jokes about Scientology...they didn't get boring or old and they were not repetitive. I wont spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but the jokes at the start about scientology and Katie Holms were the best.
I would rate this one an A-.

I finally got around to Star Trek V last night.
I loved it. I'm one of the rare people who kinda likes this film (then again, I'm only a casual Trek fan). It was great to hear Kevin again. Mike's Sulu was awesome. I would have enjoyed 3 times as much of that.
My favorite moment was when David Warner's name came up on screen, Mike said, "Not him again." and Kevin let out a big laugh.
Now I need to get caught up with Cocktail.

Watched Road House, my first rifftrax, tonight with a couple of buddies (who are casual MST fans).
I'll be the first to say that I thought the sample on the website was decent, but I wasn't blown away. I was a little worried that Mike on his own was going to be amusing-to-funny, but not nearly up to the level of the full BBI crew.
I think it's safe to say that the sample is one of the low points now that I've watched the whole thing. Mike comes right out of the chute hitting on all cylinders and despite being solo, keeps a surprisingly consistent pace throughout. Typical of many MST episodes, things do start to let up a little in the last third of the film... Considering he is solo and this is probably at least a half hour longer than the theater segments of any given episode of MST... it's a minor nitpick. There were a bunch of laugh out loud moments, including once having to resynch using the timestamped text file because I was laughing so hard I paused the dvd and not the mp3. The running gags were all really great, especially everything involving Sam Elliot. About the ONLY thing I didn't like was Mike voicing both characters in fake "conversation" (The bouncer camp gags). He just sounded like he was talking to himself. You need two people for those situations or it just doesn't work.
From a technical perspective, the synch worked well enough. I think I did three or four quick split second pauses of the mp3 because it was running ever-so-slightly faster than the DVD. Hardly a big deal considering the comedic value. The Disembaudio voice is a nice touch to keep you lined up and his occasional "throw him a bone" jokes, in the vein of Magic Voice, were amusing enough.
Overall, this is great stuff. I'll gladly pay $2-$3 a pop for as many of these things as Mike, Kevin and whoever else they involve can pump out.
9/10

ROad House had plenty of good riffs. My favorite was during the tai-chi scene: "...and there's also my standing order that you PUT A DAMN SHIRT ON!" The scene where Disembaudio explains why he didn't tell Mike about Swayze's ass being shown was priceless.
STar Trek V I had to synch with a VHS, since I don't have a DVD of it. Still funny, especially the riffs on McCoy's beans ("AFter McCoy's beans, they probably wrecked the toilets in that little shuttlecraft."). One of my favorites has to be "OH, MY GOD, SCOTTY HAS FALLEN! THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED!"

I finally located a copy of Roadhouse and watched that. It was great, and I loved the final fight scene. So many stupid, yet hilarious, puns to replace Swayze's lame comment after tipping the stuffed bear onto Tinker.
...what a grizzly way to die.

Just finished Fifth Element, my very first rifftrax. ^_^ While I actually like the movie (long-time fan of it), I have to say Mike pointed out various things I never really caught on to until this (the comatose boy holding the light, the odd acting of the President, just how sheerly ridiculous Chris Tucker is in his performance, the bizarre outfits of the police). I have to say I'm not really impressed with the banter between Disembaudio and Mike, it just seems like it's reaching.
Still, Mike was on top of his game and I look forward to getting more rifftrax in the future. ^_^

This was discussed in the rifftrax forum and the subsequent rifftrax dont have the same "banter" with disembaudio. If anything disembaudio talks less and its a 'little' more funny.

The Fifth Element. I bought this Rifftrax a few weeks ago but only got around to watching it last night. I had a really good time with this one. I didn't really mind the banter with Disembaudio, I even laughed at it a few times, but I'm not going to miss it if it's not in my next Rifftrax purchase.

Watched Point Break last night. Very very funny, up there with Road House. Keanu, Swayze and Busey give Mike so much material. And there's not much Disembaudio interaction this time, but what's there is very funny. (DA gives Mike updates on the level of adrenaline at various points in the movie. It's rarely 100% pure as the tagline promises.)

I finally watched Crossroads, and I agree - that was a depressing movie! I can't believe what all happened in it, for a Britney fan-oriented teen pic. I felt bad about laughing sometimes. Aside from that, it was seriously the funniest commentary I've seen yet. Lots of classic lines. And better yet, I didn't have to purchase the movie face to face with anyone! I traded for it online, at least semi-anonymously.

Plan 9 From Otter Space. It's been years since I've seen Plan 9. I recorded it from TCM and just watched it with Rifftrax. The commentary is pretty good but I think I laughed at the movies own dialog as much as anything Mike said. Ed, you magnificent bastard!

Yes, I noticed that the "Rifftrax Classics" are not so much riffing, but more of amusing commentary. Certainly not in the same league as the newer RiffTrax releases. Still fun to watch with Mikes help.

Point Break. Holy mackrel, what a ride. As funny as Mike riffing on Keanu and Swayze was, I loved the way he ripped on Gary Busey. It was just... so... funny.

Halloween. Wow, was this ever a good one. I think the combination of hilarious riffing and a movie I love is a great combination. I thought the "skits" Mike and Kevin would do when the movie wasn't offering up much riffing material were nicely done, as well. This is only my second Rifftrax, but it's shown me that a team works much better than Mike riffing the movie alone.
