Good to hear. I figured it would be a good choice. They should try Godzilla Final Wars. Check that out on youtube. That would be a joy to behold lol.

Fellowship of the Rings - Very, very funny. I'll get deeper into it in when I review it, but I like this style of riffing (similar to the work on Painted Hills) when you can't really slam the flick for being bad so they do voiceover type of commentary.
Now I'm only 4 behind, yay! I've posted my reviews for The Matrix and the brilliant Star Wars rifftrax. I might get to the Grudge later today, I'm not sure. It was fun getting back into these.

Roadhouse - my first Rifftrax!
Had to buy a new mp3 player after my second sh*tty chinese one broke and thought what better way to grace it than with this. Roadhouse was on BBC1 recently so I taped, along with Star Trek V which I'll get to soon. This was actually my first time seeing Roadhouse, Patrick Swayze Xmas just got a whole lot funnier, as well so I was looking forward to being guided through the cheese fest by Mike.
It was bloody excellent! Had a few problems at first with the timing but soon got the hang of it. I can't wait to download the rest!
8/10

Daredevil
Of the few Rifftrax i've seen, this is by far my favorite. I think this episode is just as funny (if not funnier) as the best Sci-Fi episodes of MST3K. Fantastic riffing. I think it really helps that there are three of them once again riffing the movies, and I hope they do more like this. It's really nice to know that they're still as funny as ever, even after 8 years of being off the air and with (presumably) only three people writing the episode (as opposed to the many who wrote MST3K).
The only thing that I think is bad about this release is that it has set the Rifftrax bar so high that I'm worried any other episode will dissapoint.
But still, fantastic. If you can spare a couple bucks to rent the movie and 3 other bucks to buy the Rifftrax, do it. Especially if you're a fan of the Sci-Fi era.
This Rifftrax is making me look forward to the Film Crew release more and more!

xXx
I haven't watched this since it came out, so I gave it another shot. Kind of a weak one, better than Top Gun, not as good as 5th Element. Saying that, there were still many laughs.

Island of Dr. Moreau
I did this one with a VHS tape, as well. It was the theatrical version taped off pay-per-view shortly after it came out, so it didn't match perfectly with the director's cut Rifftrax. That didn't bother me much, though, as I've gotten a lot better at re-synching these things.
Regardless, it was probably my least favorite so far. I hadn't watched the movie in probably ten years, and found myself trying to remember ahead in the movie. I think I prefer having seen (or having some recollection of) the movie before watching it as a Rifftrax.

Somebody Reboot Val Kilmer!
I really enjoyed Island of Dr M. which is good because it's one of the DVDs I had to buy since we have the theatrical only here in NZ.

Somebody Reboot Val Kilmer! Ha! That was a good line. Darn good. Come to think of it, there were a few good lines. Maybe the version difference affected me more than I thought it did. Will have to try again with Internet rental service and check out the director's cut.

I think I prefer having seen (or having some recollection of) the movie before watching it as a Rifftrax. Yeah, I didn't think it was that strong either. I only ranked it a 3/5. I still say 5th Element and The Grudge were the weakest though...

Fifth Element, Star Trek V and Crossroads, an epic session!
Fifth Element was solidly funny, not many laugh out loud moments but still good. The stuff with Disembaudio was a bit over played but wasn't a major put off. I like the movie so this one proved to me that Rifftrax works with movies I like.
7/10
Star Trek V is one goofy movie! THankfully that made the whole experience great fun and Kevin was excellent, making me look forward to the others featuring him. Not a Trek fan so it was great to hear it ripped.
8/10
Thankfully I wasn't someone who had to ask for a copy of Crossroads as my wee sister owns it. Poor soul! Easilly the worst movie done so far, and easily the most savage beating, and I loved every second of it! I was disappointed to discover that Dave "Gruber" Allen was in this as his name appeared in the opening credits and I'm a big fan of his work in Freaks and Geeks but thankfully he only played Patron in Bar when Britneys doing the karaoke. He didn't actually have a line, so why such a high billing? Pips Roadhouse to my favourite so far!
9/10
I've got xXx, X-men and when the DVD arrives, Cocktail for this week.

Yeah DisembAudio in 5th Element caused quite an outcry, and he is a bit less ranty after that, more like his one liner in Crossroads. They call on him to good effect in Battlefield Earth too.

The Grudge" This movie features more Hypno-Helio-Static-Stasis than RADAR SECRET SERVICE. As Kevin says "this movie dishes out horror by the thimbleful." It also provides plenty of fodder for Mike and Kevin and they take full advantage of their opportunities. A solid B+ effort.

Swing ParadeCertainly a well disguised Legends Colorized film with the RiffTrax name to increase sales. Not all that funny and I don't think I can bare to watch it again. Very low key. Battlefield EarthJust finished writing "my take" on it. I consider this to be #1 of the 'Holy trinity' of movies to be riffed by rifftrax. Visit my review to find out what the others are...
