Has anyone even heard of this? I know I haven't. But I bought it anyway.

I've never listened to them, but I see their records come in at work now and then. They have some cool cover art, that's fer sure.

Haha, the album art is definitely captivating. Do you work at a music store?

Indeed I do. I work in the music and movies department of a store that features used merchandise of all kinds, but primarily books. But I don't work with books.
I buy so much music though, I don't have time to keep up on this thread . . .

The picture on their debut album scared me too much to buy it. That image elicited a guffaw from me. Re: BiG Stoopid's Paul Simon comments. I owned Surprise before I bought You're The One. Indeed, Surprise is the better album. I can't wait to hear his next one, and hopefully it will come out sooner rather than later. I still haven't picked up Rhythm Of The Saints, though. It's still on the agenda.

It's still on the agenda. Ah, I never saw this ...well, I may have by now. Check and check on your comments, Rhythm is full'a great stuff . . I just remember this one peters slightly in the midst of "Side Two" also , , slightly. Lemme' ask you this, are you the big fan of "Hearts and Bones" that you better be ?! I can see where some would find some of the production gimmicky , but if "Cars Are Cars" or "When Numbers Get Serious" don't float a boat ( in your moat ), one can't deny the shimmering strength of "Song About The Moon" or either "Think Too Much", or "Johnny Ace" . . . even tho' Paul gets one thing wrong. 12/8/80 was a freakishly WARM day , where he would've caused confusion no doubt , if he hadn't gone with the more "acceptable" ---> "was a cold December evening" oh Oh ! "Train In The Distance" ! I listened to the whole album 10 , 20 times the weekend I first had it . Went for walks thru fields with it....the works!

Just picked up these bootleg CDs from some auctions. Usually I don't go for stuff that's too unstructured or "experimental" or "out there" or with song lengths over 5:00. My favorite Kraftwerk album is The Man-Machine: somewhat long songs, but every thing's catchy and poppy in its way, and it moves along at a steady pace. But despite my usual tastes, I'm enjoying these first two Kraftwerk albums. They make good music for writing MST3K reviews to, for one thing. I'd like to get their third album, "Ralf and Florian" as well. But it is similarly long out of print and only available in original vinyl pressings or boot CDs and LPs. And I've spent way too much money on music recently. I just got a handful of blues CDs and completed my Southern Culture On The Skids and Dread Zeppelin collections thanks to my workplace. But my discount only does so much . . .

Brilliant album from one of the best hardcore/punk bands out there. Fast, technical, and just awesome. Yet another one of the many under rated bands that'll never get the respect or attention they deserve. Live like a legend and die like an asshole. You dance with the man, shake his hand, shine his shoes. The revolution rock hits sound like sh*t through your iPod. "Put fists up like like I got, now gimme the loot." How I tried to buy my soul back, but the devil bent me over for it. Got me curled up in the shower scratching the letters that read: Dear mother, I sold my soul for management. Fog blasts will not mask a stage act unnatural. Those timed jumps cause merch bumps, now guests list the suits. And past the smoke hands the backdrop, crowd screams "holy mackerel." Verse-chorus, verse-chorus, a solo, then boom. How I tried to buy my soul back, but the devil bent me over for it. Got you curled up in the shower scratching letters that read: Dear mother, I sold my soul for management.[/size]

Some here will mock me and others will stand behind me, but there's nothing wrong with some catchy pop numbers. I knew a few of these from the radio and decided to give the rest a try.
