Its been so long without an announcement, I'm going to up my old prediction to mid-April for a downloadable episode, late April/Early May if they can't get the download rights like the first episode. Wow. I guess I need to update my prediction again. If they're taping the second episode in mid-May, I'm going to say mid to late June for the next episode and even later if download rights become a problem again.

Well, I have no DVD burner, no prospect of getting one in the near future, and no interest in spending hours trying to figure out yet another convoluted download system. Which is by way of saying, if it's download only they've lost me as a customer.

I re-read the e-mail twice now and I don't understand why anyone thinks the next one will be download only. That doesn't make sense since you can have anything from EZ-Takes sent to you on a disc from DVD Wagon. They even said before that all Cinematic Titanic titles will be on real pressed discs, at least initially.
So what are you guys worried about?

Which is by way of saying, if it's download only they've lost me as a customer. Nothing convoluted at all. You download one setup file and install the Ez-Takes program. You shop at Ez-Takes and put a DVD you want in the shopping cart. Once you make the purchase the program opens automatically for you and starts downloading. Really nothing to it. If you had a DVD burner (less than $40 these days) you click one button on the already open ez-takes program and it burns it for you.

mrtorso is right. There can't be an easier download system anywhere. Almost all the EZ-takes releases offer both download and shipped. I see no reason why they wouldn't continue to serve both markets.

MonsterX is right, where did this rumor come from? I think someone misinterpreted something.

Yikes, if this was all my fault I apologize. All I posted was that I didn't see anything about continuing pressed disc releases in their latest email. I was just curious about their plans considering the fact they polled the fan base on how they would like their CT releases and some of the apparent first release snafus.
I didn't mean to imply anything. I was just asking.

I might try the download option on the next release. I ordered a couple of Film Noir movies from EZ Takes and the DVD burn was soooo simple.
It also has an option to make into MP4 movies for the ipod and I wonder if the next CT movie will be able to be convered to ipod format. THAT would be great.

I'm working off of a laptop and I generally only have it on for a couple of hours at a time. Also, my burners on a different computer than the one that I will download from, how do you move the file to burn it?

Can't we all just ge along? I too would prefere a " D.V.D. in hand " as opposed to " something to burn" ! I am still waiting for some word about what and when the next release may be! I feel like its Christmas Eve and I'm 5 , waiting for Santa, and I can't sleep from ANTICIPATION!!!!!!!!

Couple of thoughts, I like the download or pressed disc option. That to me seems the best of both worlds. I'd also say to anyone wanting CT in whatever format, it really isn't difficult to convert a DVD to the format of your choosing, especially one without copy protection like the CT disc. Yeah, it's a drag to download a 3GB file if all you want is a small version for the iPod, but it can be done, and easily at that. (Though, count me in the "how the heck are you going to watch it?" crowd.)
And, with regards to the Green Slime, don't hold your breath. The rights for that movie are a convoluted mess, it being a Japanese/US co-produiction with financial backing from Italians as well. The drastically different Japanese cut is out on DVD, but the English version (which came out via MGM) is held up in limbo last time I looked into it and they don't seem in too big a hurry to sort it out.

(Though, count me in the "how the heck are you going to watch it?" crowd.) Actually, before I got my video iPod I couldn't imagine watching a movie on it, but thought that it might be good enough for when I was waiting for my oil to be changed, etc. Man was I mistaken! The video is so razor sharp that it's easy to watch movies. In fact, I watch almost everything on my iPod and have never had a problem. I've got lots of MST3K and CT's Oozing Skull (as well as home movies, Venture Brothers, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Frisky Dingo, The Office, and on and on. It's nice to be able to watch whatever you want wherever you want and when you want to. RAD
