Here's some of the Star Wars I promised: The 1997 line, and some Chinese knock-offs: Some Luke and Han stormtroopers, with a Lando Calrissian stormtrooper I made: The genesis of my collection in '92: X-Men on top; Addams Family Animated Series middle shelf; Beetlejuice (Movie) bottom row. Thunder Cats and Misc fast food toys on table. ...and some Spawn figures: The Spawn figure on card behind Overkill was the much ballyhooed (for its time) "Hamburger face" Spawn...now pretty much worthless. Thanks, again. CBG

Greetings- Long time, no blog. I guess you can't really call this a blog, in the true sense of the word, because it's so sporadic. My apologies, I haven't had sufficient time to update here. I haven't had time, because I've been working! YEA! The week before the 4th of July, I got a one day call to Paramount Office Services, which is basically furniture moving. That's cool, I hadn't worked in three weeks, and anything at that point was welcomed. Pretty easy gig, and it was at my home studio. About half way through the day, I got a call from a foreman I had worked for before, asking if I wanted a week of 8-10 hour days. Of course I said yes, and agreed to start on Monday. Turns out the show was Parks and Recreation, the 'spin-off' from The Office (I LOVE THAT SHOW! ). Anyway, the four days has turned into three weeks of 10-12 hour days expanding the original City Hall set, adding hallways and more Pawnee historical murals. Last week we went to the Old LA Zoo and created some location sets for - I believe - the season opener. We built a penguin enclosure, and a monkey cage. I worked my ass off, and loved (almost) every minute of it. As it stands right now, I have a call for Monday and Tuesday. The foreman keeps teasing me with keeping me on for the entire season, but he's a schmoozer, and I know the coordinator we're working for likes to keep a minimum staff of laborers. Sure, it's busy now because of the start-up, but once the show gets rolling, they're only gonna be doing about one swing set per show, and they're not going to need that much help all the time. No worries, the Bruckheimer show gets started (finally) in a couple of weeks, and my buddy still wants to hire me for that. On the home front, all are well, and tensions are high due to the blossoming of the teenage years in our daughters. *shoot me now!* Doc is about the same, and a new member has rejoined the fold...my mother in law. *shoot me now!!* Seriously, I've got a pretty cool M*I*L, and she's helping out with rent. ;D I feel very blessed and grateful. Thanks for your time. Take care, Scotty

Greetings- Today I started a new gig at the historical Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, CA. As I've mentioned before, the show is a new Jerry Breukheimer one hour hospital drama, Miami Trauma. One of the stages we'll be occupying, is Stage 08: Yes, you are correct, the stage where they shot T.J.Hooker! (That's for you, Barry!) The first order of business we had to tackle was going down the street to the Warner Ranch in Burbank to load the tools and equipment we'll need this season. That's where I ran into these guys: In case you haven't seen the show, those are the Nerd Herd cars from Chuck. I have a feeling this is gonna be a nice gig. I'm working with guys I've know for years, and the prospects and expectations for this show are high. Hell, ER went 15 seasons, I just might retire from here. Who knows...it's SHOW BIZ! Take care, Scotty

Wow...I can't believe I haven't updated this 'blog' for almost a year and a half... Anyway, I've been thinking about reviving this thing with a blog about my day on the studio lot. Daily (if possible...but not likely ) updates about what's goin' on around a studio lot, who I may have seen or talked to, and maybe some pictures when possible. So, right now, I'm between gigs...well, not really...I got laid-off on Friday, but I have a call for Monday morning at The Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. Workin' on a pilot, I believe, with a gentleman I worked with at Warners Bros last year on The Forgotten. Like I said, I'll try to keep you posted as often as I can...right now I don't have daily internet access until I get back to my show in mid-March. So, check back once in a while, and I'll try to thrill you with the glamorous world of SHOW BIZ! EDIT: For those of you that don't know me, I've been in the 'picture business' for 22 years at the end of this month. I spent 17 of those years at Paramount Pictures working as Daily Set Construction Cost auditor for all productions on the lot, TV as well as features. As the years went on, less and less features were being filmed on the lot, and more and more TV shows were done. When CBS took over the TV division of Paramount, they said, "Why are we paying a union guy to do this work?" They busted up the management and made each show an individual entity instead of part of a 'company' of shows. I moved to CBS Radford with a coordinator I was working with, and spent a very nice 3 years there. Fast forward to the writer's strike of 2007...once that strike was settled, it was very difficult to stay employed. Very few shows were starting up or back, and the ones that did come back came back with a very limited crew. No one still in management knew me as an accountant, and I had to get work as a laborer. It wasn't too bad, I trained with people I knew, so that when it came time to work for others who didn't know I hadn't labored in 20 years, I seemed like a pro. Fast forward again to July of last year...we were striking the sets of Miami Medical (Trauma) (no, it didn't go 15 seasons as wished for above) and I was pulling nails out of the floor when the coordinator asked me if I wanted to do his paperwork for him. How many ways can I say YES!! He had just taken over Pretty Little Liars and the guy who was doing his payroll/purchasing didn't want to do it anymore. Long story short: I'm back in the office! While we have been on hiatus, I worked on a Warner Bros Art Dept project for Red Bull for the last three weeks, and, as previously stated, I'm off to Disney on Monday. I'll be back at the desk in mid-March. Thanks for listening/reading, and I'll see you 'round the lot.

August 9th, 2009 - March 5th, 2011. A dramatic pause worthy of Hollywood. A Twilightian pause. I saw from the main board that you posted in here and thought, "Hey, Change started a thing!" Then, "Oh, that's right, dur."

Hey! Sorry so long between posts...I've been busy. So, the ten 10 hr days at Disney turned into six 8 hr days, but I was thankful to have the work. I spent most of my time on Stage 02, ...dead striking No Ordinary Family. Yes, a dead strike means the show's canceled. I spent a couple of days pulling up this linoleum floor: ...and loading a trailer for location. Not much eventful, unless you count me almost getting killed when a steel door snapped its chain and dropped inches from my head: ...that broom you see is where my foot was, and the bottom of the door hit the brim of my ball cap. Too close. As I was leaving on my last day, I saw these and took pics for crowfan: As I said, pretty quiet six days. Spotted: Barry Bostwick See ya 'round the lot.

Beautiful cannons. Glad to hear you're okay, I bet that was pretty scary though. Is Barry Bostwick cool? I remember him from that George Washington mini-series way back when.

Hey! Well, almost a week into the second season, and it's business as usual. I spent most of yesterday collecting and placing orders for the materials we need to construct the sets for the first episode of Season 2, and when I came in this morning, everything's been changed, and I had to call back the vendors and put everything on hold. It's pretty quiet right now, the shooting company isn't due in for another couple of weeks, and we begin shooting on April 4. Not much to report on so far. I've been busy getting paperwork filled out, and setting up all my spreadsheets and time cards for the upcoming work. Spotted: Ben Stein See ya 'round the lot.

Yeah stay safe, watch your head.
So No Ordinary Family is done, hu. I only saw dibs and dabs (I work nights, don't see much primetime TV) what I saw looked interesting.

Yeah stay safe, watch your head. So No Ordinary Family is done, hu. I only saw dibs and dabs (I work nights, don't see much primetime TV) what I saw looked interesting. I have been watching it with my step-father, and we were enjoying it. It took too long to get to the 'superhero action', though. There was a LOT of relational expositions and explanations, and last Tuesday it started getting REALLY good, but now it's canceled...and added to the 'coulda beens' of the comic book movie/TV universe.
