Has football started? I've been too busy watching the Cubbies make the playoffs. Once the World Series is over, I'll start watching football.
Actually, the sentiment around here today was, "Meh, we always lose at Arrowhead. Just don't turn the ball over next time and we'll be fine."

I'm just happy that the Dallas Cowboys lost today. Just to see Jerry Jones face on the sidelines as the Redskins put the game away. He looked like he was going to upchuck on the field...... priceless !

sad to say....but the Texans are not going to win the Super Bowl this year...
but I agree it was nice to see the Cowboys lose today...how 'bout Brett and the Jets today?
I'm curious what all you Packers fans think of your new QB. I'm not trying to provoke anybody. I'm just wondering how that whole dislocated shoulder thing went down with you. Because to me when a player makes a bigger deal of an injury than the coach it's usually not a good sign, and from what I heard the Packers coach was downplaying the injury while Rodgers seemed to act like it was pretty serious.

The worst part is that they don't have a veteran backup QB. They could have had Favre back, if he would have accepted playing behind Rodgers. Which IMO, he should have done, given Aaron Rodgers's history of injuries. But once they traded Favre, they were stupid not to get a veteran backup. They paid for it yesterday when rookie Matt Flynn had to come in.
As for the injury itself, hopefully it won't be too serious, but only time will tell. And to be honest, the Packers have to worry about their running game too. Ryan Grant did absolutely NOTHING yesterday, which forced Rodgers to pass way more than they should have.

Welcome to my world, crowfan. Granted, we still don't know how good Rodgers may or may not be, but without a known quantity at backup, most teams are screwed. I still think the Pack made the right decision with Favre though - one good game doesn't alter that he's still an interception machine, and it was the Cardinals, and Warner was a turnover machine.

That's true, I just wish that the Pack had signed somebody, like Daunte Culpepper. He can still play and he's healthy. For what's it's worth, I do hope Tom Brady will get healthy soon.

I think the Packers made the right choice too. Regardless of how this season ends up.

I think they did make the right choice, I just wish that they had some kind of veteran back up in case Rodgers got hurt. Which is looking like the case, although as of this morning, he was going to play on Sunday.

The Browns got their first win against a very tough Bengals team...Look Out, NFL!
That was a joke, of course. But I was surprised to see Dallas tested by Cinci.
But that's how the League is shaping up this year. We've been used to Indy and NE going far into the season with no losses. Now, few obvious winners are apparent until the games are actually played. Parity is good, but are the better teams getting worse? On Any Given Sunday, I suppose...

I must say Castleton snob I do feel for you and your Houston Texans giving up 3 touchdowns in something like 3 ½ minutes must be really hard to stomach. I guess I am primarily a Seattle Seahawks fan and they lost the game on the plane ride to New York I guess.

This is bad news for Cowboys-haters. He's become a reliable turnover machine recently.
