LOVE this show. And I think I'm the only person who actually liked Season 1. I think it's the medieval history nerd in me.
"You know, Baldrick, to you the Renaissance is just something that happened to other people, wasn't it?"

I just got The Ultimate Edition DVD a couple of days ago and I watched season 1 last night. I had only seen a couple of episodes and really liked it, but after watching it last night, my sides still ache from all the laughing. I'm gonna watch season 2 tonight and maybe season 3 if I have the time.

It's been a while since I watched season 1, mainly because I didn't like it as much as the other three. I loved the episode with Frank Finlay, though.

I loved when he had the letter from the horse with the horseshoe print in blood on it. That may have been my favorite episode of season 1. It's a tossup with the episode when he has to get married.
What was rather ironic was I watched season 1 at work last night, and when I got home this morning, I turn the TV on to the History Channel. There was a show about worst jobs in history on it, and the host was Tony Robinson, who played Baldrick.

Since Blackadder, Tony Robinson has made a name for himself presenting historical programmes. For 15 years or so he's fronted a programme called Time Team, which is an hour long show on archaeological digs around Britain. He also did a very good series on the Romans.
