Skyroniter seems to have disappeared. Which is too bad, since he had supposedly the best quality. He even offered blu-ray for a time. I of course waited since Shout's releases were so steady. We could really use him now to get pristine copies of the 12. At this point, no reason any circulating copy of the 12 should be sub-par. Skyroniter is an admin on these boards. Have you tried sending him a PM? Sky retired mst3kvideos.com a while back. I don't think he actually does orders anymore, but he would occasionally donate a couple episodes for various board contests. It can't hurt to ask him, but don't be surprised if he's totally out-of-business. That said, I obtained dozens of eps from him and found them to be superior to other online sources.

No disrespect to Sky, but I've ordered his tapes in the past and they were awful.
Quality was terrible, many episodes skipped in random places - it almost felt like they were just recorded off burnt DVDs.

I've purchased from several sources mentioned in this thread and thought Sky's were great. In fact, of the dozens I bought from him, only one disc had any problem with it at all. That was my experience, anyway.

Since Shout's releasing all the host segments, the quality for sky's rips could be improved by editing them in there. I ordered around 4 eps from Skyroniter back in 2013, and they were all really great quality (excluding K04, but that's not really his fault). Shame he's not doing it anymore. But since Shout was releasing a lot of the episodes, he might not've seen a point in continuing to sell them.

I haven't ordered any of his DVDs, but after my experience with castleforrester.com, I didn't really trust home made DVDs.

I've been fortunate enough to win Sky's DVDs on various contests here and they are great. I would love to know the quality of MST3Kguy's tapes out of curiosity. They look so professionally done in their packaging.

I was doing it primarily to replace my own VHS collection that I recorded myself and obtained through tape trading. This was when Rhino was still in charge of MST3K releases and there were a lot that were still unreleased. So I can't speak for the tapes, but I was more than pleased with the DVDs.

Posting an update regarding MST3K Guy: mst3kguy.com/I ordered the dozen "never gonna get them probably" episodes and received them yesterday, overall I am very impressed! From ordering to receiving, it took 10 days. From his site, I expected at the very least DVDs with direct-on-disc printed art in some sleeves. But the price of $5.50 each includes the printed disc AND a DVD case with custom art. His deal was a free DVD for every five ordered, so the dozen cost me $55 + $8.50 shipping. The DVDs were very well packed in a medium sized box with bubble wrap, and the DVDs were cling wrapped together. The DVD art was not laser printed or super sharp, but it looks good on the shelf. The DVDs themselves are great, the label art looks nice and the DVD menus feature animated menus, scene select, and a bonus of all the TV spots from the season the episode released. I tested the earliest episode (Rocketship X-M) and the latest episode (Delta Knights). Video quality for Rocketship X-M was very good but not up to Shout/Rhino levels. However, the video was stable and there were no tape artifacts. His site states: "DVD transfers are made from my original 1st generation SP or S-VHS recordings and run through a digital time base corrector for a clear jitter-free transfer that you won't see with many other homemade DVDs. They are then burned on high grade DVD-R disks in Dolby 2.0 Stereo" and this shows. I didn't see any bad commercial break edits or CC/Sci-Fi icons in the corners. Delta Knights looked great, almost Shout quality and on par with early to mid Rhino releases. While I still hope Shout releases most of these dozen episodes, I am very happy with MST3K Guy and recommend him. Quality is great, discs look professional, and he doesn't nickel and dime you on extras like disc art and cases.

Wouldn't it make more sense to wait until the Satellite Dishes disc comes out and then edit those host segments into the Fan dub versions? Just a thought.

Well, that would require a lot of effort on my part, and should a "tape trader" undertake it I would have to wait for them to do it and that is assuming they actually do it.

Wow. That's really good quality on 201. Sure beats the current copy that usually circulates around.
