Kingdom of LoathingThis is an online role playing game...sort of. It's more of a comedy site with a game attached. The humor in it is right up a MiSTie's alley, and, in fact, there are a bunch of MST3K references throughout it, like Mt. McLarge Huge which you can visit, the battle cry of "Hi-keeba" that a lot of the monsters use, plus the dreaded Wurwilf you have to fight on occasion. Most of the rest of the jokes are the same kind of smart esoteric and pop culture references we've come to love. mummi says check it out. Plus, you can join my MST3K Clan which I just started for the heck of it. Send an in-game message if you make an account (my name is, surprisingly, mummifiedstalin), and I'll send you free stuff to speed up the game to get to the real funny bits. (And for those keeping score at home, I'll admit that I've spent a bit of my rare spare time on that site rather than here lately...forgive my infidelity.) Edit: forgot to mention that it's totally free and all web-based, so you don't have to install anything.

How do I resign from my current clan? I've been playing this for several months.
Edit: I found the "Leave Clan" Button.

Okay. Wow. So a lot of people already decided to sign up.
Here's what to know before you keep asking me the same questions as everyone else:
You have to get to level 3 before you can join the clan. That won't be a problem b/c I'll give you special food and drink to make you advance fast. To eat it, click on "Inventory" at the top of the screen, then "Consumables" on the main screen (you'd think it'd be intuitive what to click, but not for everyone...and you know who you are). Click "eat" to eat something. Click "drink" to drink something.

Hey, I was talking about this game before you! I didn't make a thread about it, though...wasn't sure if I should or not.
Anyway. I adore this game, it is, as I've said before, completely up a MSTie's alley humour-wise, it has references and in-jokes attached to _everything_, I've been playing for over a year, and I happen to have my own long-standing clan that could desperately use some more members. (We used to have 20....now, due to people just losing interest in the game and letting their characters fade away, it's down to 7.)
But I'm sure you'll join Mummi's, 'cos it has a cool MST-related name. Well, hey...when I first made this clan, I wasn't on this board yet, so the idea of "selling" it specifically to MSTies hadn't occurred to me...
Anyway, whether you join my clan or not (I hope at least one of you will) I would be VERY glad to see any of you there. My in-game name is "Zelynda" and my clan is the Marauders of Arcadia. I am currently a Disco Bandit, but the first time I played was as a Sauceress, which I liked a lot, if that helps anybody decide. You can take one skill with you permanently when you "ascend", and the two "magic" classes--Sauceror and Pastamancer--have skills that can be _very_ profitable in the free market, as well as useful. I harken back to the days before Ascension was even implemented and, in fact, was considered more or less a rumour that would never happen. That's how long I've been there. If a fellow MSTie likes the game that much, it must be good, right?
So anyway, any of you guys who sign up, let me know your in-game names! I wanna say hi. And maybe give you a welcoming gift or something. :)

Just to note something about the game in case people think this is something you have to take seriously: it's not. For instance, I'm a "Pastamancer." Here's what I look like: I have such magical skills as "Minor Ray of Something," "Lasagna Bandages," and "Leash of Linguini." That last one helps keep my little battle creature, or familiar, in line. He's an Attention Deficit Demon, and he looks like this: You "beat" the game by killing the Naughty Sorceress. She looks like this (although she gets uglier): Along the way, you can fight Knob Goblin Harem girls Ghostly Pickle Factory Workers And the evil (but profitabl) Knott Yetis You can use weapons like the Pasta of Peril, the Ridiculously Huge Sword, or the Asbestos Crossbow. You can eat such scrumptious food as rat appendix chow mein, Hell Ramen, and white chocolate and tomato pizzas. All of this, obviously, comes with spectacular graphics. You can also take it painfully seriously, as some people do. There's a mini-economy inside, people who've devised intricate strategies for doing everything in the game as efficiently as quickly as possible (for those interested, look up the infamous Bashy), and you can also spend money (real money, not the in-game "meat" that replaces cash) buying special items. But that's for geeks. The real fun is sense of humor of the two guys who write it. They even do a weekly e-cast show where they answer questions about the game and just bs about whatever they feel like. You'd like them. I do.
