Is there a particular strategy or method of advancing really fast? Because I've noticed that one or two of you have gotten higher than me, but I'm sure you started after I did, or around the same time. I mean, is there a preferred path, or certain things I should be doing first, before other things? Because I've just been randomly going to places where I'm able to win battles. (I've unlocked some places with monsters that are currently too strong for me, like the Friars' Copse thing.) It does depend on the class too Hugh. I mean, muscle-class guys have it pretty easy in dealing with monsters (at least, Seal Clubbers do). Mysticality and Moxie classes have to rely on their skills more than the muscle classes do, and having to keep using MP and then resting to restore it (or buying superseltzer) takes meat, but more importantly time. Time you could be leveling up a little more. Time you could be using to make more meat, et cetera. It's not really a race or anything. You don't get higher ranking in the clan based upon your level. If you need some help with anything, I'll do anything I can to help.

(I've unlocked some places with monsters that are currently too strong for me, like the Friars' Copse thing.) I have no idea yet. But I have found that a lot depends on my goals for that day. Some days I'm trying to accumulate stuff (meat, equipment, quest needs, etc). So I adventure a lot against monsters, where I can get stuff, but the "points" move very slowly. Other days, I blow off the questing and just use my adventures to rack up points. So I go to the Limerick Dungeon or the Tavern where they give away Strength, Moxie, or Mysticality points like they're candy. However, that gets me no meat or equipment, etc. So I'm still trying to figure it all out, but so far I've been adventuring differently based on my goals. I'm sure there's a better way... The one piece of the game I'm still completely clueless about is the combining of stuff/meatsmithing and all that. I have no idea if any of my stuff is combine-able, so I have all this miscellaneous stuff that means nothing to me.

Not every item is usable. A lot of it is just there for the funny. (Most of the things marked "gift items," for example).
By the way, you can always get more than the 40 adventures you automatically get. Our clan gives you +5, for example.
Food and drink gives you extra adventures. The chow meins and hi meins are the best adventures for the meat. Pastamancers can make them at level 10. They'll give about 25 adventures each, although you can only eat 3 per day. They also cost around 7k meat.
The best drinks cost about the same and will give you about 20 extra adventures. But they up your "drunkenness" by 4.
Then, you can add a meat maid or a clockwork meat maid for 4 or 8 extra per day, respectively.
There are also items that, if you have them equipped at rollover, will give you extra adventures. The Time Outfit (which Kruppe has) gives a total of 12 extra, and there are a bunch of accessories that give 1-3, a bunch of weapons and other things.
When I try, for example, Kruppe gets a total of about 250 adventures per day with his outfit, what he eats/drinks, and the stuff at his campsite. But that's for a guy who's ascended 4 times, who has a ton of cash, and has a lot of skills from previous ascensions.

Depending on the drinks that I make, Quixote gets somewhere between 280 and 300 adventures a day.
If the amount of adventures gets to be a problem, try building a Meat Maid. They also give extra adventures at rollover.

What the hell do I do to get past the Bathole quest? I've tried just about everything. It's frustrating.

What level are you? That can be a big thing... the boss bat is a pain, but if you level up for a while instead of trying to fight him, he's a piece of cake.
K-Mail me if you would like me to smith you up a spiffy sword/crossbow/staff to get past him.

I'm at level 5. The problem is not with the boss, it's that I can't even figure out how to get past him.

I'll respond to the other posts when I'm more awake, but I just want to let you know that I was able to beat the Boss Bat by throwing those jagged can lids at him. If you have 4 or 5, he doesn't seem to have a defense against them. Probably not the most dignified or effective way of doing it, but it worked for me.

Bat Quest: First, you have to have equip the air freshener which you'll find in the first area.
When you get to the second area, you'll need to fight until you get three "sonar-in-a-biscuit"s to open the other three areas.
Then you get to the boss.
After you kill him, you don't get the next quest until you get your next level.

Depending on the drinks that I make, Quixote gets somewhere between 280 and 300 adventures a day. I'm puzzled as to how you manage to get that much stuff. Right now, I think my problem is that I'm running low on booze and food. I have a bartender-in-a-box, so I've just started cocktailcrafting. Where are the best places to go, to pick up various fruits and cooking/cocktailcrafting items? I suppose it just seems more and more like it's taking forever to do anything, at this point. (I'm a level 7 Accordion Thief, by the way.) Incidentally, I hardly ever use Skills. Maybe that's my problem. As for Adventures, on top of the clan bonus, I manage 5 extra Adventures: I have a Meat Maid and I have the Dead Guy's Watch equipped. Still, I go through Adventures very quickly. I'm quite eager for as many as possible.

Oh, did I forget to mention I don't use all my adventures every day? I just use enough so that I have 200 (or close to it) at rollover. This way I can finish a quest if I really need to by exceeding my self-imposed limit of 145 adventures left at the end of my session.

By the way, if you get the ingredients for good food/drinks but can't make them yourself, try out the chat channel "trade":
/join trade
You'll always find someone willing to make stuff for you for nothing or a tiny fee.
Also, look for different familiars. Some increase the meat monsters drop, some give you a better chance to get item drops (or better item drops) and some increase the stat gains you get after fights. Any/all of those can speed up your progress in the game.
