Yeah, can't argue with that. They can put up points, but their defense is suspect. Although, I think the same about Indy - that defense is not nearly as good as some claim, IMO. Whatever happens, it's not go time yet, samptari. Until then, we can remain friends.

D'Oh! I'm 4 for 4 but I just realized I screwed up the seeding with Chicago and Seattle.

Much as I hate to tell on myself, I'm 3 - 4. I picked the Bengals. So that's only 3 for me, samptari.

Man... I really thought Cinci was going to make some noise this postseason, even with that suspect defense. I figured they'd be able to outshoot Pittsburg and give Indy a run in the second round... But you lose your QB early... and it all goes up in smoke.
And what the hell is up with the Giants? Wow... their offense made my hometown Lions look positively efficient. I know their defense is a bit banged up. (You don't often see a linebacker with a jersey number of 44). Still, I didn't expect Carolina to run on them so convincingly, it's not like their ground game has been all that consistent. DeShaun Foster hasn't done squat since becoming the starter. (with the exception of two good games against the Falcons, who are horrible against the run).

I'm with you, Nunyerbiz. I figured the Giants would lose, but I never expected them to roll over and play dead.

And what the hell is up with the Giants? Wow... their offense made my hometown Lions look positively efficient. Carolina took the ball out of Tiki's hands with those two early touchdowns and forced Eli to make the plays. With the way he has played lately, that wasn't a good thing. If the Giants D hadn't been so banged up they still would have had a fighting chance because Delhomme is prone to making mistakes but they weren't so they didn't. It will be interesting to see if Carolina still has the fire they had against the Bears like they did with the Giants. Matt

Yep... I think it will be one for the ages.
I still think when push comes to shove, The Artist Formerly Known as Jake Plummer will return to form and throw an interception at the worst possible time. Regardless of home field advantage, it will be a cold day in hell before I bet on The Snake over Brady in a big game situation.

All due respect to the Patriots (and I admit I'm nervous), but the Broncos have been crapped on all year. Every ESPN analyst has been saying the same thing since week 1, "I just don't trust Jake". Whatever.
He had the fewest interceptions of any starting quarterback in the league this year.*
Read that sentence again.
Here are the other facts: The Broncos are 8-0 at home. They were one play away from beating the Giants, and one possession away from beating the Chiefs. They're 13-3, but they could realistically be 15-1**.
All year, I had to hear that the Chargers were the second best team in football. Well we beat 'em. Twice. We also beat Washington, Jacksonville, Dallas (before they quit on Parcells), and-- oh yeah-- New England. The Broncos are #2 in the NFL in rush defense, #3 in points allowed, #5 in total offense, had the fewest turnovers in the league, and the second best turnover margin.
I agree, it'll be a good game, and the Pats have the experience, rings, goldenboy, yada, yada, yada. I just think most people around the country are overlooking what the Broncos have accomplished this year. And it won't be an upset if they knock the champs out.
*of QBs that had at least 200 completions, i.e. they played in most of their team's games unlike, say, Byron Leftwich, who was injured.
**I'm not saying they should be 15-1, they should be 13-3 because they didn't win those games. But excepting the egg they laid in Miami in week 1, they've been as dominant as the Colts.

Thing is, you miss one game and your screwed, one loss has ended any hope of my getting any points from the AFC - So I'm in pure NFC mode now.
I haven't watched much football this year (losing games was depressing me too much, so I decided to heck with this misery, I'm getting some fresh air)
I didn't know the Bengals D has gone to crap the past month. And losing Carson put the nail in the coffin. Bummer. I liked them Bengals.
Broncos and the Pats. Who do I root for, do I care? I'm so sick of the Pats it makes me hurl. But I can't stand the Broncos (Sorry Mr. A - it's feedback from when the Hawks were in their division. I can't completely get the bad taste out of my mouth)
I also despise the Steelers and their coaches stupid face!!!!!
I guess I'll become a Colt backer
In the NFC it's Seahawks or nuthin.

Broncos should be the favorite, no doubt. However, I can understand the relatively tight point spread at this point. Denver almost crapped away that regular season win at home against New England... and it wasn't the New England team that is coming to town this weekend. They were without two of their biggest difference makers on defense and freaking Amos Zereoue factored prominently into their ground attack that day.
I'm not trying to take anything away from what Denver accomplished but to flip around your comment Mr. Atari, it won't be a huge upset if New England wins on the road. You can keep drinking that Jake Plummer Kool Aid all ya want.... but until he does something of substance in the playoffs without making that killer mistake, I'm staying away.

Just out of curiosity: does anyone else out there but me think the Bears have a reasonable shot at the whole wad this year? Not the *best* shot, obviously, but my heart's with them this year.
