i bought all the studio dvds, but have no real interest in going to a live show or getting a live dvd. Shame, i liked the studio dvds and thought they were getting real good.

I just noticed that from the main board this thread says, "screw your damn lives." I'd like to believe that was no accident.

Anyway, about the lack of release, the CT web site has a background, "East Meets Watts", for a DVD that's not even available. That's an issue, IMO. East Meets Watts is available in the CT store. And I disagree with some of the above. I really don't care for the live DVDs. I think that's just personal taste--I don't like "recorded live" albums either. Something about the crowd being there makes me feel one step removed from the performance. . .like I'm watching someone watching the show rather than being lost in it myself.

like I'm watching someone watching the show rather than being lost in it myself. Isn't that, like, the whole premise of the show? And MST3K, as well. You were watching them watch the movie. ;D

It is now, more than a year and a half after my post you're quoting. Doesn't change the fact that for quite a while it wasn't available.

Not claiming that it does, just trying to be helpful letting people know it is in the store. like I'm watching someone watching the show rather than being lost in it myself. Isn't that, like, the whole premise of the show? And MST3K, as well. You were watching them watch the movie. ;D Not to me. . .I'm watching comedians at work. The live shows are like watching an audience watching comedians at work.

As for them not releasing anything in a while: Maybe they're just self-conscious. No matter how many times they do a movie and hone the riffing, maybe they think, "If we do it just ONE MORE TIME it'll be DVD worthy."
