Normally I wouldn't start an entirely new thread about a mere short, but I felt it was warranted for 3 main reasons: 1) It's our first ever attempt/release. 2) It's made exclusively by members of this forum! Myself, Hellcat, and Skyroniter. 3) We're the Government, and we can post whatever we want. I think. *********************** In the late summer of 2009, the U.S. Government recruited Mr. Raja, Miss Hellcat, and Mr. Skyroniter to work together on a "riff" of a 1950 short entitled Ways To Settle Disputes. While the reasons for this are classified for now, their efforts are currently archived for the public's enjoyment on Rifftrax via iRiffs.com and on DVD. That is all we're allowed to say at this time - in fact, we've probably already said too much. But here's a sample anyway. The vocal duties are shared by myself (Agent Declan, the deep-voiced guy) and Agent Skyroniter (the not-as-deep-voiced guy). Miss Hellcat (Agent name currently being generated) graciously served her country by having a HUGE share in the "Pre-Riff Correspondence" phase of the mission (aka, "writing"). ******************** We'd LIKE this message to blow up in 5 seconds, but then that would kill the sample and we'd have to do it all over again, so we'll let it slide this time.

That's great. As densely packed with riffs as Smuckers jams are with genuine fruit flavor. I look forward to your stuff.
Are you guys going to use MST-type movies/shorts for the most part? Any chance you'll release DVDs the way Joshway does?

Wow - I did NOT expect this kind of positive reaction! (Especially from JoshWay, an actually ACCOMPLISHED riffer!) Thanks everyone for the comments. I will say this - if you like the sample, I'm confident you will enjoy the entire short as well. It featured a lot of our style without giving away too much, which is what I set out to do with it in the first place. To answer callipygias' questions: 1) Our approach to choice of shorts is very MST3K/Rifftrax-like, so you're correct there. They serve as our training for the actual missions, which are targeted against the cheesiest and brain-cell-killingest of movies. Something about the Government feeling they're a threat to society's future or something. Just so everyone is aware, the target of our first mission is none other than the 1987 classic "Jaws: The Revenge" - currently underway. What the future holds after that is uncertain - you'd have to ask the Chief, and I don't have his cellphone number. But I do understand that Agent Skyroniter has quite a library of cinematic cheesiness himself... 2) Though I will never say never, at the rate our releases will be (which is not as frequent as most, I'm afraid - we still have alter-egos we have to parade every day), I can't say I foresee any DVD releases in the future. For now, we'll stick to VOD's for shorts and audio for the feature-length movies. If you ask nicely enough and have proof of purchase for the riff/movie, though, chances are I would be more than happy to burn you a synced DVD myself. Something to consider if you find the syncing process too annoying. Thanks again, everybody - I'll use this thread to update with any news on developments. That's pretty much how I envisioned it spelled in my head. ;D

But I do understand that Agent Skyroniter has quite a library of cinematic cheesiness himself... That's right! We may finally get to hear Killdozer riffed!

Just for update's sake: We HOPE (but cannot guarantee) the iRiff will be available in the upcoming week for purchase and download from Rifftrax. HOWEVER: Also around that time, we are arranging (for those who don't like downloading stuff) via Sky's www.mst3kvideos.com the alternative of purchasing this short on DVD. It may cost a tad more due to shipping charges and the physicality of it all, but still, it's an option. We've already heard from a couple of people who'd prefer it on DVD, which gave us this idea. If you wish to "pre-order" a DVD instead of downloading it, please PM myself or Skyroniter, or even send Sky an email expressing your interest. In due time we'll be able to "hook you up," as the kids say these days. Thank you for considering supporting your country.

For those who might be interested, our little riff is now available on DVD through my site: www.mst3kvideos.com/Disputes.htmlI'm going out on a limb and saying this is the best riffing project that I have ever heard that includes my participation. It is a non-stop laff-o-rama that will leave you crying for more. If not just crying. So stop disputing about it and pop on over and pick one up. Or wait for the iRiff release. See if I care. (I do.)

I watched this earlier today and I thought you guys did a real good job, especially for a first outing. I liked the little intro and closing as well. My favorite riffs had to be the Sean Avery reference when the little kid was fighting, and all the riffs made at Alice's expense, especially the one about the narrator.

We appreciate the feedback muchly, Dalton Farmer. Somehow, some way, we ended up being the #1 selling iRiff short this week! Thanks to all who purchased. If you feel up to it, leave a comment and rating or two on the iRiff page as well - this instills confidence in our citizens and builds faith in their government's ability to talk over defenseless public domain films.

Finally got to watch this. I really liked it, despite the vertigo of hearing Sky'roniter pronounced Skyro'NIter. Pretty cool to hear regular board members riffing. I hope you three keep it going.
