Yes, the stuff on Francis should be interesting. He deserves a biopic.

I've always pre-ordered my MST3k Box Sets (especially all the Shout releases) from Amazon, because the price always drops before it is released. But I can't remember how long before the actual release date that it usually drops... It seems like it was a month or 2 before the release, but as of right now, it's still $44.99. The release, of course, is a couple of weeks away, so that is a bit weird. If its not going to drop below that price, then I'm just going to actually buy it at Best Buy who have it at the same price, but I won't actually have to wait and get it. I can just drive down there the day it comes out have it in my hands the day of release. But surely the price will drop on Amazon before its released, right? Right?! Sorry...

That's strange sirhamhat, I am like you and order mine via their amazon lowest price deal or whatever it's called. Mine is down to $40.99 and it's been that way for awhile. I last checked my order last night. Not only that, when I ordered mine I did it while I was on their 30 day trial "amazon prime" which means I get free two day shipping. My shipping price still says "free" so I guess it's when I placed the order. Because I declined the year long two-day free shipping since it's $79.00 a year. Oh and the price listed at Amazon without the lowest price guarantee is $41.99 no where near $44.99

If you pre-order at Amazon, you usually end up paying less because of the presale low price guaranty.

I'm going to wait until they actually lower it. I've got some time left before I have to pull the trigger on an order. (Plus, because I live in the same State, I get charged tax from Amazon. So it would have to drop lower than Deep Discount, where I'm not taxed, to be a better deal for me)

Thanks for the responses, everyone. Weird... I guess I'll just wait it out... but it seems like by this time, XVII had already dropped to $35.95. Maybe this one won't drop down that low. As of now Best Buy has it for pre-order at $44.99 and I can have it the day it actually comes out and only pay tax and no shipping. If it drops below $40 on Amazon, then I'll get it... Otherwise, this will be the first box set I've pre-ordered from Best Buy. But for now... I wait... patiently...

Yeah I just checked Amazon the the current price for the box set is indeed $44.99. But my order is still $40.99, since I ordered mine via their lowest price guarantee thing. Two weeks away and I can hardly wait...

Zon would have to drop to $38 for it to be the better deal for me. How do you get their lowest price guarantee anyway. Do you have to write and request it, or belong to some club of theirs? Because at this moment they aren't the lowest price.

^^ No I didn't need to sign up for anything or join a club of theirs. Amazon does this for some items that are available for pre-order. Luckily MST3K dvd boxed sets are one of them. This is only during the pre-order phase of the item. Meaning whatever the lowest price is during pre-order that is the price they will charge you. You just have to read a bit to see if it's available for that during pre-order.

I've been picking up The Creepy Magazine Archives and The Eerie Magazine Archives. I've pre-ordered two volumes in advance.
I get notices that the release dates keep getting pushed back. Then all of a sudden pushed forward. They list for $49.95, I usually pay $32 pre-ordered. I received notice of shipping for Volume 6 of Creepy, and was only charged $14.95 plus shipping. I even wrote them and inquired as to the price. They said it was a pre-order deal!

^Darn, I wonder if I still have my original Lost Continent... I seem to remember it wasnt in that great a shape either. I'd like to compare (though I don't remember lines during host segs).
And Amazon sounds arbitrary and random - so if I order I might get it for $44 or I might get it for $35 or...
step right up, spin the wheel and take a chance. That's frustrating to me, just give me the bottom line - up front - how much do I owe you.
