last night was a very hug-filled dream. i was hugging everyone i saw. i walked into a restaurant and saw a group of people at a table and realized they were my sister's friends from high school. as i was hugging one of them - he said something to me, but i couldn't hear it - i saw another table where my parents were sitting. even though this was present day, my parents looked like they did when i was a kid. i did a double take and my sister's friends laughed, saying it wasn't my parents, but wasn't it weird how much that couple looked like them?
then it was my birthday. i opened a door at a church to see my priest and a lot of other people (mostly kind of faceless) that i guess attend my church. everyone was hugging me, and went to give my priest a kiss on the cheek, but he turned and i accidentally kissed him right on the lips. it was really awkward and i was mortified that i did something so inappropriate. the people i was hugging turned into this long line and i realized it was the line for communion and i was just going down the line, hugging and shaking hands with everyone - and it really wasn't necessary - i didn't know most of them, but i was too embarrassed to admit it.

Normally I have massively cinematic dreams with confusing plotlines that I wake up and forget almost immediately save for scattered bits and pieces. "Why was there a boat?" "Who stole the sacred gem?" "What the hell-Ben Affleck?!"
Night before last, I dreamt there was a dead body in my backyard. In the back corner, which is really open and exposed, sprawled out face-up on what looked like a really long truck seat. The decay was enough that the teeth were really exposed and I was thinking that meant it had to have been there for a while, and wondering why no one had noticed it. The police station was for some reason right next door, so I went to it and told them. Then I walked back over, but this time the seat was gone and the body was face down in the grass, flatter than it had been before. I wondered why someone would steal the seat out from under a dead body and thinking that it was sad, but not feeling sad or scared or anything.
I think the body being flatter was from watching "Roger Rabbit" the other day, but the rest I have no idea!

isn't it weird how you can dream something that would terrify you in real life - finding a dead body in your yard - and it doesn't seem scary or weird at all, but dreaming something really tame - like looking for your shoes or something can freak you the hell out?

I rarely have power over my dreams, but I usually don't feel powerless, if that makes sense. It is very calm, very relaxed, even the positive or frenetic parts. I'm either a participant but with the emotional impact turned way down, or a passive observer with no emotions at all.
Probably means I'm a psychopath who secretly wants to molest bears or something.

Probably means I'm a psychopath who secretly wants to molest bears or something. Hey! That's exactly what I dreamed last night! You molesting a bear. But, in my dream, I couldn't figure out who was doing the molesting. I'm having odd dreams. A few nights ago I had a dream of laying in my bed and at about 2 in the morning a radio broadcasting that something was about to arrive in that scary something bad is coming voice. Then, I was at work in what seemed like a large garbage container that had electronics. I had to climb up the sides to help the customers who were far below me asking for TV sets and mattresses and the like. That was it too it.

I blame Godo for mine.
I redid Hamlet with Doctor Who characters (with Eccleston as Doctor/Hamlet). I don't remember a lot of those specifically-I just woke up being proud of my subconcious for good casting and for remembering as much of the dialogue as I did.
Everytime I dream Shakepeare it's screwy.

I had a curious one last night. I was at a friend's place up in the foothills, which he has nicely landscaped but which remains rocky and uneven. We were playing some kind of weird obstacle bowls when we found a lizard -- maybe a foot long or so.
He said something to the effect of, "Watch this," and opened his mouth so wide that his head went back a full 90° while his jaw remained flat. He then coaxed the lizard to crawl in and curl up there, leaving just the last inch or so of tail sticking out.
I guess I indicated some surprise, but he motioned that it was OK. This guy is half English and characteristically phlegmatic. He coaxed the lizard back out, but it had now changed into a small alligator. He closed back up and said something like, "See, no problem."

I love you, solgroupie, but now I'm beginning to hate you too. Not really, but because I want to weird you out I've been actively trying to remember my dreams better in the morning. I want to come weird you out in this thread, but now I have to get weirded out too!

I'm having dream fragments because my dreams seem to be chamber pieces. In one fragment, I was floating over land while a news commentary was going on, I then dived and went under the land to find it was floating on water, then came up again and floated over the land while the commentary warned about high waves causing damage.
Another fragment had myself and a woman friend searching for someone while walking down a street. When we arrive at the next street, it turns into a sea shore, where my friend then jumps into the water.
I had a third fragment which seems to have gone "poof" on me while typing this. If I remember it, I'll come back and type it in.

To be fair, I'm not making it up or exaggerating at all. It was very disturbing.
