Give it up for my hometown Hawks! It was a thing o' beauty. Cracks me up - I'd laugh my ass off if they won it all. And that run, one of the greatest I've ever seen (loved seeing him push a Saint on his arse). One hell of a fun game! I had a good feeling about Seattle, thought they'd fight hard in their home stadium... never thought they do this good.
And the Pack and the Jets got a win too. So it was a good weekend for me. Don't know how good it'll be next weekend (Hawks are bad on road, Pats own Jets at home), but for now I'll savor what I got.
Seattle at Chicago: I don't think Hasselbeck can pull off another career game against the Bears' defense. But I also wouldn't ever bet against Cutler's ability to throw an INT at the worst possible time. Pick: Bears
Packers at Falcons: Aaron Rodgers is really, really good. Clay Matthews is really, really good. But Matt Ryan is something like 19-1 at home. And the Falcons are the most balanced team in the NFC. Pick: Falcons
Jets at Patriots For all the bluster of Rex Ryan and co., the fact still remains that in their last game, the Patriots beat the bejeezus out of the Jets. This one shouldn't be close. Pick: Patriots
Ravens at Steelers I really don't want to see the Steelers or Patriots in the Super Bowl again. I always to prefer to see some new teams, and not the same old dynasties. But I think Roethlisberger and Polamalu are better than Flacco and Lewis. I'm hoping for a nail-biter on this one, and I hope the Ravens can pull it out. But if I were a gambling man... Pick: Steelers
But wouldn't it be great if...
The Seahawks and Packers won, leading to another home game for the Seahawks. Some commentators' heads might explode.

Seattle at Chicago: New Orleans played really bad last weekend. Won't happen to the Bears. Bears win. Packers at Falcons: I pick Falcons to be in the Super Bowl. Good team. Jets at Patriots: Pats kick Jets butts one more time. Ravens at Steelers: Best game of the day... Steelers squeek by.
The thing about the Jets playing the Patrios is that you never know which Jets team is gonna show up....either the "Keep the game close, then pull out a win in the second half" Jets, like in the first meeting these two teams had this season, or the "Get the living snot beaten out of them" Jets like in the second meeting of the season. Personally, with how much I despise Tom Brady lately, I really hope the former Jets team shows up.

Seattle at Chicago: Cutler is iffy, but I don't the Hawks have any more magic. I could be wrong. Pick: Bears
Packers at Falcons: Excellent matchup, but I'll take the home team and Matty Ice. I think this one comes down to the last seconds with Ryan leading a field goal drive just after Rodgers takes the lead. Basically, it's Colts-Jets again. Pick: Falcons
Jets at Patriots Clearly I won't pick against my team in this one. However, I think it'll be close through three quarters. In the end I expect the Pats by ten, perhaps by a little more. Pick: Patriots
Ravens at Steelers Taking the Steelers. I think they're just a little better. The Ravens are good, no doubt, but with an OC who seems to forget he has Ray Rice at times, I'm not sold. Combine that with an aging defense that simply is no longer elite and you have the Steelers taking it by a touchdown after a hard fought game. Pick: Steelers
Yes, I'm taking all four home teams. The percentages are with me but I do believe they are all better - though in many ways it's a coin flip with Steelers-Ravens and Packers-Falcons given how evenly matched I think they are.

I can't be logical with these teams. So I'm going with the hometown Hawks. My favorite team for ages, The Packers. And my late great uncles favorite team, The Jets (though truly that series has been all about the home team so it's not likely) And since I can't stomach the Steelers, I'm gonna take the Ravens.
And yes Mr. A, a Hawks vs Packers NFC championship would be a hoot. I'd like to see some exploding heads too.

I am so utterly cheesed off with Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, Matt Birk, Anquan Boldin, TJ Houshmanzadeh and most of all Cam Cameron today.
To dominate a team so thoroughly through one half, then completely capitulate is inexcusable. The worst part is that the Ravens were the architects of their own downfall. The fumbles and INT were just bad decisions and not playing fundamental football. They absolutely let the Steelers into the game by giving them great field position when all they had to do was play smart, sound football.
I'd take it a lot better if they'd made the Steelers work more for their scores...
Most of all I'm sad for Terrell Suggs. What a beast he has been this season.

Seattle: Well it was fun while it lasted, they had to play perfect, and early on they let too many opps slip away. WRs dropped key 3rd down receptions, a potential pick 6 lost (which the Bears turned into a TD later)
I can't believe the Ravens imploded like that, Idiots. We almost got rid of Pitt.
The Jets are the same as they were last year. They do just enough... to get in the playoffs, to win a games in those playoffs. One more baby!
The Packers. After all those injuries and what not, they finally are playing like the team we thought they'd be... at at the perfect time.
So, if it's Bears/Pitt in the SB, I'll skip it (Can't stand either team)
Packers Jets. would be my dream SB - Two teams I've always followed, It would be the first time I picked he SB teams in the pre-season. I believe it would be the first time 2 last place seeded teams played in the SB. Historically it would pit the winners of the first 3 SBs.
And now apparently Patriots WR Dieon Branch is complaining that the Jets were "rubbing it in too much" after they won yesterday....this coming from a guy who's quarterback did the same thing after the 45-3 thumping....now you know how it feels Mr. Branch.
Well... I got two out of four. Not so hot. Really surprised how the Jets handled the Patriots.
Same here. And...same here. But, I tip my cap to Rex Ryan and his team as they backed it all up. I do wonder if an injury was faked when the Jets were on their heels, but even if that were true (which I doubt, but it crossed my mind), the Jets simply played better and deserved to win. Simple as that.
I am temporarily a fan of the Steelers. I'm taking Green Bay as well, with them winning it all over the Steelers.
