I don't know why, but I'm totally pulling for the Lions this year. I mean they're due, right? Nice first post! You been saving that for two years? ;D

After a cursory look at my favorite team, I've come to the following conclusions:
1) Orton is better than people think. 2) Tebow will be better than people think*. 3) The Broncos, overall, will be as bad as people think.
*Note: I am not a Tebow apologist, and could care less about the "Tebow is the messiah/Tebow needs to shut his pie-hole" debate. I just think the brouhaha about his throwing motion is completely overblown. If the guy has cajones and can rally the team around him, then he can win. And I'm glad he's on my team and not, say, the Chiefs.

Of my teams... The Packer's Rodgers looks even better than he did last year... but the defense needs to step it up or we could have repeats of last years Cardinal game
I really like that Charlie Whithurst with the Seahawks, course he faced pre-season defenses, but I liked his crisp passing and his accuracy. Knowing Hasselbecks injury problems the last few years, I feel comfortable with him as backup.
The Titans, I never can figure out a Jeff Fisher team - they go to hell when you think they should be great, are great when you think they'll be middle of the road. I hope the defensing backfield can improve and that Kenny Britt will grow up, or we'll be hurtin at WR.

The Packers have improved their defense and I think they have a real chance to win the division. Rodgers looks very good.

Go Eagles! But I wouldn't bet the farm.
Anyone else get bored by the Vikes vs. Saints last night. I was anxious for the start but it just seemed a boring game and I quickly lost interest.

^I heard it (No/Min) was a dull game, I missed it and am missing the games right now. After going to the IMAX I was going to stop into a sports bar... but the place was a fly speck, tiny and packed. So I went to another place... which is out of business. So now I'm in a burger joint, watching a computer screen.... GRRR (my brother is on vacation and out of town or I'd go to his house)
10- 3 Packers so far. Edit - 56 yard FG with no time on the half... 13 to 3! (sorry Sky, we are rooting for opposite teams this week)
Titans won I see, Hawks are losing.

Well my picks for the week were mostly wrong except for my big 3 (and having Hous beat the Colts).
Glad to see the Pack win, but Wow, but Vick almost got that game back for the Eagles.
Hawks! Yeah baby, everyone practically haed this as a gimme to the 49ers, it was sweet to blow them away. Still, the niners had the means to put us away early and didn't, so I count our blessings.
Titans in a walk.
My brother (Vikes) and Sis (Lions) didn't have as much to celebrate other than the Seahawk win.
The Redskins surprised me - and yeah, I thought the Brownies would take Tampa. Sorry, Mrcleveland.

So all I learned from watching football this weekend is that most of the quarterbacks really stink (Delhomme, Smith, pre-concussion Kolb, Campbell, Moore, and many others), and that when you do finally score, the refs take it away from you (Lions and Cowboys).

I live in Chicago. I have no reason to care about football.

I live in Chicago. I have no reason to care about football. You beat the Lions. Though you shouldn't have. Both my teams (Panthers and Eagles) were spanked convincingly. Not a great start to the season for me.

That Lions call is complete BS, though that's the rule and it was the right call. What a stupid, stupid rule though. The guys gets both feet down, touches his knee and his ass to the ground... and as he rolls to stand up he touches the ball to the turf and... no TD? WTF - and it didn't help that the Titans Jeff Fisher called it a good rule today - yeah and that's why your a dumb ass who can't win any Superbowl's. Grrr - how far do they take this idiocy. Next the player will have to take the ball to the sideline, hold it all day and sleep with it all night... and then we'll give him a TD. "Bite me!" stupid rules committee.

You can say that The Browns will be going to the Super Bowl...that Larry the Cable Guy mentions!
Their season's over since they'll be playing the Ravens next Sunday.
Go Blue Jackets!
