Anyone on the fence about buying the complete series on DVD might be interested in Amazon's deal of the day. It's down from $150 to $50 for all four seasons.

I somehow missed this show when it was first airing. I feel some shows need to be watched chronologically, so I don't feel right picking them up in the middle. I've heard so many great things about Farscape that I was happy when I found episodes posted on YouTube last summer after I first got laid off. I very much enjoyed them, but they were difficult to watch because of the video/audio quality. This is a series I'd like to see re-aired or pick up through Netflix.

Anyone on the fence about buying the complete series on DVD might be interested in Amazon's deal of the day. It's down from $150 to $50 for all four seasons. I'm so pissed that they came out with this AFTER I had already bought all seasons separately (and PeaceKeeper Wars). I spent quite a LOT on that little endeavor. All I want is the extras I don't already have. (Probably no way to get those on their own - NOT FAIR!!). I was even mad when they came out with "Starburst" editions of some of the episodes, with more extras than the original DVD's had. They're punishing people who bought early!! That's what I say!! I'm wondering if PeaceKeeper Wars now has commentary, it didn't originally. It's not included in the set anyway. I don't know if I should get this or not. I was reading some of the comments from customers and one said the quality was better than the older versions, one said it was not. And the price is a little higher now. I hadn't posted on this too much lately, 'cause it seemed no one was getting into it. Also: They were supposed to make a Webisode series of this, I haven't heard anything of late. Didn't know who, if anyone, from original series was going to be in it. I'll have to look around online to see if they did anything on this yet.

FSQOTD:
"Anything strange happen to you guys?" "I live on this ship. Something strange ALWAYS happens."
(Crichton and D'Argo - I THINK - from "Losing Time", Season 3 - I remember the quote, but not the ep and who said it so much).

They have comic books of this series, I think from where it left off, I haven't read any of it, but creator Rockne S. O'Bannon wrote them. There are "minisodes" on the Nerdist channel (also posted on Youtube). I watched a few, but they don't get the nuance of the full eps (obviously). And if anyone gets the channel Pivot, they are actually airing the whole series again!!! In order!! (Every night, I think). So that's good, maybe they'll get some more fans. Unfortunately, I don't get this channel, it's on my service (U-verse) , but I don't get that package.
FSQOTD:
Crichton: "Yeah, well, you do not scare me, missy." (gets the patented Aeryn glare) *backs off* "Okay, you scare me a little."
(Season 4, "Twice Shy")

I believe there is a TV movie in the works, it picks up when John and Aeryn's son, D'Argo, is 19. I hope, I hope... (I also hope it doesn't suck). I have a fanfic in my head of picking up kind of from where the last one left off, but when their son is more about 9 or 10 or so, and John and Aeryn have been living a "normal" life on a little peaceful planet, but things start going wrong in a nearby neck of the galactic woods: A new alien threat (maybe Nabari), Scorpius is captured, and Braca goes looking for Crichton to take up his hero-of-the-universe schtick again. And John also learns he has more than one kid: Grayza's daughter is HIS! I should try to write it down before I lose it all. FSQOTD: Chiana: "You saved my life." Crichton: "Pass it on."

Bonus quote:
Rygel: "I don't run away, I...strategically maneuver."
from "Crackers Don't Matter" Season 2
Aww. I didn't even know that Jonathan Hardy (voice of Rygel) had passed away in 2012.

For the record: I can't call myself a Farscaper, but I loved the show when I saw it. Now that I've learned that my public library has (I think) the entire season on DVD, I think I'll be watching through it as soon as I finish Eureka (and maybe Archer and Warehouse 13. So many good shows at the library...)

I just recently re-watched Peace Keeper Wars. (Watched it on Youtube, even though I have it on DVD anyway, but I was on the site, so...) I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet, but I'm not really going to give much away here anyway. Anywho...I think it was a really good TV movie, but not quite up to snuff with the rest of the series, but it was a good way to wrap things up. The fans made it all possible.
So: I think Scorpy's makeup wasn't quite as good as on the series, it looked more like regular latex than the "hot flesh" they used for the series. Sikozu looked like an idiot. What, did she become, like, a biker chick? It looked like the one who played Noranti (I forget her name for the moment, Melissa Jaffer? or something) looked like she couldn't be in all the shots so they just used her for some of them, then when she couldn't be there, they used a stand-in and dubbed her voice in later. You can tell they redubbed A LOT for this movie, sometimes their voices really sounded like they were just talking in a studio and not really into it. I know they had to do this on the series, too, but they (usually) did a better job of it. Did Chiana get a new personality along with her new eyes? She just didn't seem like her Chi-self. She was overdoing it or something.
Why didn't Crichton ever take Scorpius to see Einstein so he would get off his wormhole weapon kick?
And...D'Argo, nOOOoooo!

Does anyone else think that Claudia Black would make a good Elphaba in "Wicked"?
