There is a video on YouTube listed as Mystery Science Theater 2000 uploaded in 2009 but it was obviously done way after MST3K went off the air. I'm wondering if this "Lone-Gamera" poster is one of the creators of that unfunny video which, of course, has lots of swearing. It's probably as legit as that video where someone tried to riff a phony clone of the Russian MST3K.

I definitely remember MST2K, only it was a half-hour, had different people, no robots, not all that funny, and was called "Mad Movies with the LA Connection."

You'll notice all the accounts that support the MST2k story aside from the topic creator only have one post and serve only to bump this old thread. Well that's me. I got here from Google. I demand to find out the answer to this. I too remember growing up watching MST2K on channel 23 with the round UHF antenna. Then it became 3k on CC. It could be the Mandela Effect. Like all those people who insist Sinbad made a movie called Shazam: www.refinery29.com/2016/12/133858/shazaam-movie-sinbad-parallel-universe-theoryBut that's probably due to Shaq making Kazam! instead.

That channel was KTMA23, and you're correct that the series originated on that channel. However the series still went by the number "3000." This is well documented by both Joel himself and the KTMA episodes we have (and all but one are in circulation). Joel has even shared with us the first two episodes of the series as well as the original pilot and they were all "3000."
You probably watched the series on KTMA, but you are definitely misremembering the title.

Think we should just sticky this thread since it's constantly being bumped?
This question is sarcasm BTW.

Well I saw one titled: Mystery Science Theater 1,000,000 B.C. A couple of evil Shamans trapped a Neanderthal and his pals (Crow Magnon & Peking Tom) in a series of caves where they wandered through the caverns and riffed on the cave paintings. MST1mBC. That was the title: MST1mBC. It really was MST1mBC. I know it. I have really, really, REALLY strong memories of seeing it!

If it helps kill this thread, here's a quote on the subject from Joel himself: "Also, just so you know, it was never, ever called Mystery Science Theater 2000, because, simply... that would be lame"link

It won't kill it. This thread is immortal. IMMORTAL I TELLS YA!
Mystery Science Theater 2000 was the best show ever. 3000 is okay, but they really stepped up their game for 4000!
