We all love a good moment that comes out of nowhere and bowls you right the hell over. I definitely do, as I know I've started a topic on it in the past. So I got to wondering: what would MSTies consider to be the number one, greatest "what in the holy hell was that" moment in a MSTed movie? The choice is yours, and yours alone. The polls are now open. God speed, my friends.
(Mine is the teleportation scene, btw. Yes, I voted in my own poll. that's how I roll.)

Had to go with the Hitler building. It still leaves me speechless.
My second choice would have been Other: The hang glider scene in Cave Dwellers.

For me, it will always be "There was no monster."
The other scenes you mentioned are weird, sure, but "There was no monster" actually says to the audience, "Just kidding, this ENTIRE MOVIE was pointless."

Easy: the watch in Danger!! Death Ray. I still can't believe that such a blatant editing mistake made it into the final cut of the movie. It's not even a couple of frames. . .the hand is on-screen a good couple of SECONDS, which is an eternity in the editing world!
To me, that's MUCH less forgivable that the Hitler Building. That's just a poor, misguided use of stock footage (hilarious and shocking though it is). The watch thing was unbelievably sloppy editing. Granted, the editing throughout the movie wasn't exactly Academy Award material, but at a minimum it seemed somewhat competent. But this watch bit happens during what's supposed to be the movie's BIG FINISH!! I mean, how do you conceivably blow that??

One that's not even mentioned. John Ireland walks into the attorney's office and appears out on the street on his horse.

Lots of good choices, but I went with the teleportation scene.

"There was no monster" in Monster A Go Go, "Watch Out For Snakes!" in Eegah! and the teleportation scene in Girl in Gold Boots are the big 3 WTF moments for me.
I voted for snakes, it just comes out of nowhere and Eegah was my first MST3K episode. It has special meaning.

Every time the teleportation scene is mentioned someone brings this up so I will also. You can't blame that on the movie. The copy they used had obviously broke and some frames were missing when it was spliced back together. There is a ton of things to blame on Girl In Gold Boots but that's not one of them.

I know it's not the movie's fault, but it still ranks up there for me. If it's in the episode, it counts, as far as I'm concerned. And COME ON, he just teleported there-- that's impressive!

Nothing comes close to the Hitler Building, in my opinion. Has anyone figured out what the heck that was about, in any case?

Actually that went out to theaters like that. From what I understand there were (at least) 2 edits for the film. The one that was used on (the unmsted) DVD didn't have the teleportation scene but had it's own unique missing frames of film. So to my mind, since the director let it go out into the world like that, it's a viable riff. And my choice - The Bowler Hat guy killed me to, but I now know who he is. But when I first saw Buz teleport I was howling with laughter, as well as mystified.
