I'm on board for the new season. Seems like forever since it's been on. Short seasons will do that.
For for losing Durabont, that sounds like it was a mess. The previews look decent though.

Mrs Shep and I have just started watching this. Very good so far.
Does anyone else remember Andrew Lincoln as Egg on "This Life"? Excellent British dramedy if you haven't seen it.

I thought it was a great season premiere. A lost kid in the woods is scary under any circumstances, but in the world of The Walking Dead, that obviously gets ramped up a bit.
The performances continue to be excellent for all the characters. I have to admit I'm most interested in Darrell as a character for some reason. His brother was such a lowlife, and when you first meet Darrell you see similar shades, but he continues to redeem himself and proves to be an invaluable member of the group. It will be interesting to see if his true colors are more like what we've seen or like his brother's. And for that matter, if we ever see Merle again, can he redeem himself like Darrell has?
Good start to the season. I have something to do on Sunday nights again.

Another decent episode Sunday, if not a little slow, but that's the pace that can give later episodes their impact. I was also glad to hear they've been renewed for another season already. They now know they can develop their story arcs and don't have to worry about being cut short. www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/25/us-walkingdead-idUSTRE79O7XD20111025Looking forward to Sunday's episode.

This week's episode had some pretty good twists. I've got to see where it all goes.

Read the comics, haven't seen a single episode. Have they found the prison yet?

No. Personally, I haven't read a single comic and I'm all new to the story. The producers are kind of playing up that they're going to deviate in some ways from the comic to keep it new to those who have read it, but I don't know what they have added or cut out. Or if they've even gotten that far in the story.
The last episode had to do with Shane and Otis going to the high school to get medical equipment to save Carl. Shane returns with it. They're still looking for the little girl back along the highway, but Glenn and T-Dog reconnect with the the farmhouse people. Interesting episode, but it still feels like setup for a later payoff. I'm glad they've got more than six episodes or whatever the first run was.
Incidentally, how many people are watching this in HD? I don't have AMC in high definition and I feel like I'm missing something.

I'm watching it in HD. Haven't seen it in SD so I can't say what you'd be missing.

I'm watching it in HD. Haven't seen it in SD so I can't say what you'd be missing. I think it's just one of those things – I watch most of my other shows in HD, so when I have to watch in SD it seems small and fuzzy. I get lost in the show just as easy, but sometimes I notice.

I have AMC in standard, but bought the first season on Blu-Ray. The show looks fantastic in HD.
After a few weeks of working my ass of, I finally got to catch up on the shows that have been building up on my DVR, which include the Office, Terra Nova, and the Walking Dead. I was disappointed in last years finale, but the first three episodes this year made up for it. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.
I've been thinking of picking up the graphic novels too. I hear there's a few twists in them that they're steering away from in the show.
And no, mumms, thay haven't reached a prison. But I've read interviews that state they're interested in using that storyline down the road.

While this week's episode was pretty forgetable, one thing I will say is thank god Glenn tapped that. If he wasn't, then I was going to.

I''m glad that this show is starting to stay more true to the comics.
Some good tv should be in our future.
