I've added a list to the first post of this thread with all the information mentioned here so far. I didn't include the packaging errors of 515 and 517. I'd like to include time codes for all of the DVD glitches and cuts, too.
I don't have all of the VHS tapes so I can't confirm if they all contained the "Turn down your lights... where applicable" intro, but all of the ones I have do, including The Amazing Colossal Man.
Is the dark transfer of 1003 a problem with the DVD or the original episode?
And we need confirmation on the Pod People cuts and which episodes have bumpers missing.
Also, can someone confirm that MST3K was recorded in mono until the Sci-Fi episodes? If so, I'd like to check if the appropriate DVD releases were in proper stereo.

* While many episodes have tape hits (glitches) - I would not call the tape hits on Yucca Flats, Lost Continent and especially Dead Talk Back, as minor. Santa and Blood Beast (and many others, I believe Bloodlust has a few as well), yes, those are minor as they pop up on an occasion. The first 3 I listed, the tape hits come in groups and also cut into the host segments. They are not minor to my eye so I'd differentiate between the two in some way. (maybe by noting, "Minor tape hits" and "Several tape hit groupings" ... or not ) * I don't know how to post something on Youtube, but I do own the Pod People broadcast version and have mentioned the missing scene at my websites forum. Here's what I wrote. I don't know if that's confirmation enough. * Also as mentioned in that quote, there is a riff cut off from the shorts disc for "Home Economics Story" (I don't recall which collection off the top of my head), it cuts out a riff by Tom, when the teachers holding up something, Servo says something about snot and mucus. * And the Merlin darkness issues is on the DVD not the broadcast version, there are times when the shadowrama figures disappear into the black on the cpmmercial release. This is not an issue with my home VHS and it's generally brighter through and through. Hope this helps

Everyone is so distracted by the missing Stinger in Atomic Brain that they overlook the missing spaghetti ball logo that precedes the chinderwear segment.

The Final Sacrifice has two brief but loud audio glitches about 20 minutes in. They don't ruin any riffs, but they are startling. Shout has said the glitches were on the master tape.

Also as mentioned in that quote, there is a riff cut off from the shorts disc for "Home Economics Story" (I don't recall which collection off the top of my head), it cuts out a riff by Tom, when the teachers holding up something, Servo says something about snot and mucus. Right, he goes "This is phlegm. This is mucus." The "this is mucus" line is cut, because it immediately goes to break, and the first line said after the break is also by Servo. It was too close to keep without keeping the bumper, which they didn't do for the Shorts (nor much of the Rhinos). Also, can someone confirm that MST3K was recorded in mono until the Sci-Fi episodes? If so, I'd like to check if the appropriate DVD releases were in proper stereo. The show went officially stereo with 812, "The Incredible Strange Creatures..." (or was it 813? It's one or the other). But with 901, it became better stereo (to the point that episode originally aired with screwed up echo-chamber sounding theater audio because they were still getting the hang of the new mixing capabilities).

* I don't know how to post something on Youtube, but I do own the Pod People broadcast version and have mentioned the missing scene at my websites forum. Here's what I wrote. That reminds me of the few moments *included* in the DVD release of Girl in Gold Boots that wasn't in the broadcast version. At the bongo party, Leo gives Michelle a joint; she puffs on it briefly, and the riff is something like "Suddenly I like the Allman Brothers". Obviously SciFi cut it because they didn't want to show drug use like that. Anyway, on the Space Mutiny DVD, did everyone else have this pixel fuzz right around the "Look familiar Mike.... what am I saying?" riff? Essentially the screen becomes covered, for just an instant, with red, blue and green squares as the image breaks up. It was definitely a Bellarian scene.

I've updated the list. I still need to check if the stereo episodes were released as such. Thanks again for all the info, guys!

Eegah: A sound glitch occurs in the middle of Crow's riffs on Arch Hall Jr. It sounds like he's saying "But I'm whining!", but the glitch makes the third word hard to hear. It sounds almost like "minding."

There's a one-second or so long horizontal line video error in Hobgoblins at approximately 38 minutes, 15 seconds. i55.tinypic.com/28i6rfr.jpgI also think the video in Time Chasers is a little dark, but nowhere near as bad as Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders. Using a PC DVD player with luminance correction can resolve the issues with darkness in Time Chasers. The same cannot be said for Merlin.

This thread is great! Love the list added to the initial post.
I'd love a compilation of the title cards, or at least a high-quality youtube post of them. They are only a few seconds long each, right? They should all fit in one video... I'd do it if I had them all.

MJ noted on his review site that Santa Claus Conquers The Martians has several very minor tape jumps that aren't part of the film.

The audio and video seems to be out-of-sync during the last host segment on 107-Robot Monster. Anyone else get that? FYI: I've been keeping a database of info on the DVDs, including major glitches, here: 174.121.218.201/~eegah/mst3k/mst3kdvds.htm

MJ noted on his review site that Santa Claus Conquers The Martians has several very minor tape jumps that aren't part of the film. I noticed that a few days ago. I never noticed any of this before as I'm used to watching on old tapes and Youtube and most of the films they watch are in poor shape anyway - but you guys have me lookin' for it now!

^Don't look! It's pretty minor. some slight jumping here and there. Another reviewer actually mentioned it before I did when it was first released. As for synch problems with Robot Monster - mine matches up to perfection. I don't know if this is the case with you eegah, but I've have had intermittent synch problems in the past on DVDs - I just cleaned the player and that cleared right up.
