I'm the only music addict in my family. My parents never really listened to music that much. My dad likes classical, and I remember dancing around the living room to Elvis and the Beach Boys when I was a small child. But I was always the one to make sure there was music on in the car, not my parents.
I also remember listening to old time comedy recordings with my brother. I have fond memories of rolling on the floor laughing at Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, Abbott & Costello, Jack Benny.
But it was the invention of the Walkman in the '80s that really turned me on to music.

This was a big deal in my house too. Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Steve Martin when Mom wasn't home, and Bill Cosby, Weird Al, and Victor Borge when she was. ;D

My parents listen to Rush, Yes, Dream Theater, Audioslave, Dave Mathews Band, 311, Genesis, some other rock, and some christian music, too.
The ones in bold are ones I also like.

My mom loves stuff like the 3 Tenors, Josh Groban, Willie Nelson, and some of Elvis' output.
My dad liked Charlotte Church and was a pretty big Joan Baez fan when he was dating my mom.

My dad was responsible for turning me on to Steely Dan.
The odd thing about this is the reason he became a Steely Dan fan was because he interpreted "My Old School" to mean they were from his hometown of Annandale, Virginia. Eventually, I discovered the "Annandale" they were referring to was Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, and to this day I haven't had the heart to tell him.

My dad listens to the "classic" rock and folk-y and country. Like Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Gregg Brown, Bob Dylan, Montrose, Ben Harper (he loved the one he did with The Blind Boys of Alabama).
My mom likes a lot of random stuff like Frank Sinatra, Trio, Everclear, Vince Guaraldi, Rihanna, Steely Dan, Phoenix, Ben Folds Five, The Rat Pack.
I must say though, I'm glad I was exposed to the music they listened to, I find myself listening to a lot of the same artists they did.
