The best baby-voiced singer since Claudine Clark singing lyrics like, "...I'm a really good singer, la-dee-da-da-da!" It's almost worth buying a Heineken. The horns are extra-funkified in this live version. i'd never heard the whole song before - i'm always out of the room when it comes on, but i kind of dig that hook. she cracks me up the way she hops around with that little girl voice.

I think I'm just getting old. I've been listening to CSN/CSNY/CN/SY/WHATEVER for the last three days straight But harmony is beautiful. While driving down the coast last week, looking over the Caribbean-esque waters of the mid Atlantic, I kept thinking of "Southern Cross." There's a unique element of beauty to their songs that puts me at ease. And yea, I'm an old man too. I can never understand some of the words in the song, so I thought this lyrics only vid was appropriate.

Llan de Cubel, Asturian (i.e., Celtic Spain) folk music. Awesome stuff. I wish the studio recording of this track was on youtube:
The "B" and "C" parts (start around 1:30) are just awesome.

Blur-Fool's Day Recorded as a one-off single to commerorate the bands reunion after many years apart. Only 1000 copies of this single were made and were sold at last years Record Shop day. Like the industrial sludge behind the opening beat.

Apparently I'm just out of it, because I've never heard of Imogen Heap. I have this track on Dufour's album, and I figured I wanted to learn to play it. It never occurred to me to figure out who had actually written it, and that it had been made pseudo-famous by The O.C. and SNL:
MY original (which is not the original):
THE original (which is even more haunting, but the vocoder, while cool, hides the harmonies as much as it creates them, imo):

Here's a little Saturday night piece of "what the hell is that!?" Strangely cool. I'd kinda just like to hear Jones do it, though.

the Cardigans do a version of Iron Man by Black Sabbath too. Just thought I'd mention that.

you need a very eye-blistering video from the best early 70s jazz-rock band you've never heard of.
