-7 this morning. And we got hit with some lake effect stuff yesterday afternoon that put my local snowfall past two feet, more than Chicago itself. This was my driveway yesterday around noon, right at the beginning of the last blast. I had just shoveled the driveway for the second time, and there was already about 1/2 inch on the ground.

We had an Ice Storm in South Louisiana. I miss my 70 degree winters we used to have.

We had an Ice Storm in South Louisiana. I miss my 70 degree winters we used to have. It's -10 right here right now with a layer of ice on the roads that's been around for a week. Last night was colder. It sucks. But I'm really, really glad we're nowhere near an ice storm right now. Those things suck.

Crowfan, you wouldn't know anything about this, would you? That sounds like something I would do ;D Sorry but that woman kind of deserved it.

We're getting more snow than usual, although nothing like the rest of you. It's the ice storms which suck on toast. It's awful trying to drive in it. I hate it when I'm not accelerating or braking, just coasting, yet my car starts to fishtail. Then ice weighs on power lines, knocking electricity out, when it's near zero. *brrrrrrrr*

The neighbors transformer blew that night.

I know, it's nothing like you guys have been having, but last week was so bitterly cold, nearly zero windchill. I'm at the MEXICAN BORDER, for pity's sake. You really don't want to be living in an RV when 50 mph winds are tearing along at subfreezing. Really, you don't.

Well...this winter was a bone-chiller.
Luckily, it's going to be above freezing this week.
