I haven't checked any unusual playing destinations for this season as when the Mets played a team(forget which one-the Marlins?) in Puerto Rico last season or when the Yankee's began their season in Japan some years ago. Anything like that happening this season as far as anyone knows? That was Montreal back in 2004.

It happens. The Twins finally get Joe Nathan back this season after he underwent Tommy John surgery two years ago. It happened in spring training, too, very much like Wainwright. As for my Twins, let's see. • Joe Mauer already had a shot this year to help "lubricate" his knee. Thank god we traded away our two best offensive catcher prospects. This was not what I wanted to hear. • Justin Morneau is still not 100 percent almost eight months after suffering a concussion last season. That's scary. You just can't take chances with these kinds of injuries, but man when you know a guy like that isn't completely there, it's depressing. • Nishioka, our new middle infielder, could be a great all-around player if he adjusts to the new league, teammates and culture. No pressure • Thank god we got Thome back for another year, especially with the question mark over Morneau. And that's just the start. I'll save it for later. It's too early for me to be talking about this now, anyway. March Madness hasn't even begun yet ! GO WHITE SOX! heh But it's never to early in the season to express my strong dislike for the White Sox The AL Central is definitely up for grabs, though. Should be a fun season.

I'm not delusional enough to think that either of us are poised to trump the East without some heavy doses of luck. Perhaps a couple of DVDs from sky?

Done - and since the division is so open, how about we make it for whichever team finishes highest? Man, am I ready for summer

The Yankees win on opening day. How wonderful But a raw, cloudy, cold day in The Bronx. Tigers starter Jason Verlander was a l m o s t unhittable but Tex connected for a 3-run dinger. Granderson pinched in too.

White Sox start off in interesting fashion. At least it'll be exciting. And the Cubs lose on opening day to the Pirates. I'll keep my mouth shut.

Twins drop two straight to the Jays to open the season. Today, they were one-hit by Doug Drabek's kid.
As Harry Doyle said: "That's all we got? One #$@%$@#$@# hit?"

Pirates atop their division at 3-1. Enjoy your team's stay at first place while it lasts, Bucs fans. In two months, we'll all look back at the standings entering play on April 5 and laugh at the fact that Pittsburgh had the division lead. The bottom will begin to fall out in a few weeks.

Manny was on drugs!?!?!?!?!? Well, as I understand it, getting pregnant can be difficult at times. Then again, as Harry Doyle might say: "low and [Manny] has walked the based loaded on twelve straight pitches."

Well, the White Sox seem to know how to hit this year. It's that darn bullpen that seems to be creating problems. Thornton maybe not the closer he was supposed to be?
