The Rockies are 7-2, and both of their losses were in extra innings. It's early, but Tulo and CarGo are dominating. The starters are 5-0. Street has 5 saves. And all with Ubaldo on the DL (he comes back next week).
If you love baseball, you have to see these guys play.

It probably says more about the Red Sox, since the Tampa Bay Rays blew the Sox out the other night.

The White Sox have led in EVERY game they've played so far this year. And every loss can be blamed explicitly on the bullpen, and three of them directly on Thornton. I still don't get why Ozzie pulled Buerhle the other day when he'd let him go 8 innings. Dude had the lead, had only thrown 99 pitches, was still doing great, and so we lose it in the ninth inning after he goes to a closer who'd already proven he was shaky. So last year Thornton was an All-Star set up man. This year, we put him in the closer spot, and he falls apart? Is it *really* that much of a difference to throw in the 9th rather than the 8th? I know people talk about the psychological difference, but, hell, you're still throwing the same damn ball to the same damn catcher. At least Ozzie's rants about the meltdown are as entertaining as ever.

The Twins are atrocious so far. The factors? We traded half our bullpen over the off season, so we're really hurting in the long relief department. Fransisco Liriano is really making me wish we had traded him to the Yankees, and most of the team is hitting like they're in single A ball. And I swear, put this team in Target Field and watch them hit NOTHING for an entire series. Jim Thome is the only one with enough oomph to get it over the damn fence. Bring back the Metrodome, man.
Our hyped second baseman broke his leg last week and now Joe Mauer is on the 15-day DL with "soreness." Pavano pitched a gem last night and STILL didn't get the win thanks to Joe Nathan completely blowing up a save opportunity. At least Matt Capps is kind of a bright spot.
It's going to be a long season.

In all 4 games against the Mets, they were down at least 2 runs, but still swept them. It's like September of 2007 all over again: they play like they know they're going to win every game. As a lifelong Cubs fan, I don't know how to react to this type of play.

You don't want anything to rub off on the Rockies.

I'm going to the game tonight. The Rockies fan in me says, "This'll be great, no matter who wins!" The Cubs fan in me says, "This is going to suck. No matter what happens, one of my favorite teams is going to lose."
I need help.

So you saw the Cubs drop a 5-0 loss. At least Starlin Castro is fun to watch. But the rest of that line up that's been there for the last five years or so...is there a more expensive set of regret-filled contracts in the NL?
