Nice work, sir.
Interesting results. I expected season one to rate the lowest but I didn't expect Seasons seven and eight to rate the highest.

What's interesting to me is that 19/25 of the top-rated episodes were released by Rhino/Shout, but only 10 of the bottom 25 were. That could mean that Rhino/Shout really knows what they're doing with MST3K releases, only releasing popular ones, or that people are rating episodes they haven't seen or haven't seen in decades. This conclusion seems to be supported when looking at the entire Rhino/Shout release list. There have been 100 episodes released (even if 2 of them were later recalled for copyright reasons). 63 of them rate as better than the average of all episodes according to this thread's poll results, and only 37 of them rate as lower than average. This includes the Gamera box set, which had only 1 out of 5 episodes rated as better than average. If that box set were excluded, then 65% -- almost two-thirds -- of the released episodes would be rated as above average, and only 35% would be rated as below average.

This should be stuck to the top of the page very useful data even if I don't totally agree with all the ratings.

Now that XXIII is out, I have included those four episodes as now being available through Shout. The four XXIV episodes are now included as being next in line.

How about a chart correlating episode ratings with what decade the movies being riffed were made?
50s vs 60s vs 70s vs 80s.
It would also be fun to see a chart comparing ratings for B&W versus color movie eps.

Was thinking of this thread when I was looking at the Favorite Episode post that Sampo made.
I realize that the logistics of doing this make it virtually impossible, but it's interesting to think about.
I wonder if rather than rating episodes from 1-10, we instead rated all the episodes from most favorite to least favorite, and how the list would change. It's easy to just give every fun episode an 8 or so, so there's no real comparison between episodes. That, and everyone's idea of an 8, for example, may be different.
Just as an example, Monster A-Go Go, Bride of the Monster and Soultaker all rate an 8.2 on this scoring scale. But I wonder if you had to compare the three episodes, which one would actually be more favored. If you couldn't give all of them the same score, how different would this list look? Would those three episodes still be pretty much clustered together, or is one or two of them benefiting substantially from the fact that, if you want, you can just give an 8 to all of them?
Interesting to think about.

Finally updated the episode ratings with the poll results as of today, only a year and a half after the last update! But at least it's just in time for Box Set 30.

Nice work.
Since some episodes received more/less ratings than others, I'm wondering if there is a way to "weight" these numbers to account for the uneven distribution of ratings per episode.
