901 The Projected Man, I've heard when it originally aired, the audio on the riffs was different. Like it echoed or something. I was wondering if anyone had the original airing of 901 and if they could put it on YouTube. Or at least a clip. I just was curious as to how bad the audio really was.

I've heard about it but can't remember ever running into a copy of it. If I did, its long gone.

That's the one I had on tape. I watched it for years until finally discovering Sky. I had always guessed it was an experiment they did with sound, or something--like the green silhouette thing from season one--and was glad they abandoned it. It wasn't any kind of big deal, but it did take a couple minutes to get used to each time I watched it.

I remember starting to record it, but when I couldn't understand half of what was being said I turned it off. Watched and recorded it later when they had it fixed/normal sound and could hear it clearly. I guess I should have taped and saved the whole thing just to have it.

Somewhere, I do have my VHS copy of that. The audio was all tinny and echoed and you couldn't really hear the riffs. I seem to remember when the Sci-Fi(I simply refuse to use the stupid new name for them)Channel re-played the episode, it sounded normal.

Yeah, they acknowledged the sound problem, and attributed it to the editing process, saying the next time it aired it would be fixed. Seems to me I remember the same thing happening with 902 (which they had also filmed before 901 aired and the mistake was caught), and I recorded that one too. I think, but am not absolutely positive, my copies of those survived the great VHS purge of '08. I'll check when I get home tonight. Are you looking to get a copy of it, Brandon?

Are you looking to get a copy of it, Brandon? Not really. I mostly was just interested in it being uploaded to YouTube, or at least maybe a 3 minute clip. I've just always been curious as to how the original audio sounded.

I had it taped the original way also, but I purged my old tapes after I burned everything to disc. And, by the time I did that, I had a "clean" copy of that episode from a later airing.
The original really was crappy sounding.

I still have my original VHS of it plus a screener copy from the Sci-Fi Channel that has the same strange echo effect.
Scotty, I'm pretty sure it was only on 901.

I don't have any equipment to convert to digital, but I could probably dig it out and send it to someone.

I know I'm a month late on this request, but I haven't been to the boards in a while. I'm pretty sure I still have my tape of the original airing. I will try to track it down and post a clip tonight.
