Oh, no, it's no bother. I don't mind stopping by, I wasn't doing anything else this summer anyway. No storm chasing? Nope, I've found the one thing I enjoy more than storm chasing: spending time with my buddy Phantom.

This reminds me of a Sacco & Vanzetti joke I made at work yesterday. Nobody got it. Fortunately the annotated Special Edition "Summer Plans" thread will be out soon, complete with anecdotes by several of the lead authors. I'm writing the foreword.

I don't get it either. 'Splain it to me Don Quixote! They were Italian immigrants and anarchists charged with the robbery of a South Braintree bank and the murder of two of the Bank's employees. They had numerous corroborating alibis, and the police didn't really have solid evidence to link them to the robbery and double-murder, but Mssrs. Sacco & Vanzetti were known radicals and associates of another criminal who was deported for his crimes. They had no prior criminal records. They were executed after a lengthy series of trials. Most supporters of Sacco & Vanzetti claimed that the convictions were politically motivated (The United States was strongly anti-immigrant following The Great War and their rejection of joining the League of Nations), mere excuses to remove potentially disruptive elements from the community, despite the lack of evidence. The police claimed that their associations with a known criminal, not to mention their histories of radicalism were evidence enough. There's not really a clear picture here, due to the spotty evidence (and the case being nearly ninety years old at this point), and the hullabaloo surrounding the case. The available evidence points to Sacco & Vanzetti being at least mostly innocent of the charges, but unfortunately, the whole truth has been lost to the sands of time. I'm surprised you didn't hear about it. It was in all the papers and there were several public rallies all around the world. You no doubt saw something about it at least once when you were taking your grand-nieces and nephews to the park.

Oooh, summer plans... I'm turning legal when Harry Potter comes out! So basically, my summer is being spent possibly losing whatever remains of the naive part of myself, seeing Harry Potter, getting a new drivers license, and possibly getting a job passing out samples at the local grocery stores. Best. Summer. Ever. (BTW, hi guys and gals. I'm still alive. )
