I'd just gotten the vibe that people wanted him to fail because he was so over-the-top sincere...which seems just as unfair. Well, that's true. People want fallible heroes and can't wait for people with integrity to crash. It's quite a double standard: Religious people are a bunch of hypocrites...unless you aren't, and then we'll really hate you. On the flip side, most Tebow supporters are truly obnoxious and seem to think that his sincerity covers all of his QB shortcomings. Also, the overcoverage is reaching Farve-ian heights. So I understand some of the hate. But the way otherwise intelligent analysts hate his playing is just lazy.

hey, the skins lost again! that's weird. Yea, it's like we live in this strange other dimension in which everything is exactly the same. Weird, huh? since the 'skins' only viable strategy at this juncture is to go 3-13 and get some good draft picks, i'm actually suggesting that we pull grossman AND beck and put rick sloane behind center. then we just focus on gag plays. you know, he comes out of the shotgun, runs out of the pocket, then fires a bullet directly in the face of one of the opposing team's cheerleaders. he spontaneously drops the ball and then falls on it and pretends it exploded like a grenade. he scrambles out of a broken play and then pulls out a rake he's somehow secreted into his uniform and starts beating on the defensive line with it, while cheesy synth hits come out of the stadium sound system. you know, let's get a little Washington Globetrotters action out of this. You know, that just might work! As for Tebow, if no one else wants him, we'll take him. He wins, we lose. Yep, Tebow by himself is better than the Washington Redskins.

On the flip side, most Tebow supporters are truly obnoxious and seem to think that his sincerity covers all of his QB shortcomings. Yeah, Skip Bayless isn't doing him any favors. In fact, I was appalled by how he threw Elway under the bus and has described him as a petty, tunnel-visioned failure of a GM just because Elway wasn't completely thrilled with the way Tebow's played. Bayless has pretty much thrown everyone in the organization under the bus in order to jock Tebow, but his comments about Elway have been particularly egregious. I'd love for someone to flip his positions, only without the needless negativity; someone who raves about John Fox, the Broncos' defense and their receivers and running backs and how they're all getting the job done for a guy who can't complete half his passes.

I don't listen to too much sports radio etc, but even then it's hard to avoid Tebow talk (you hear it during the game.... even if it's not a Broncos game). Amazed he pulled it off again. I thought the Jets would kill 'em. --------------------> Some of you might know of the fun rivalry my brother (a Vikings fan) and I (a Packer Backer) have. This was posted on Youtube. Course I had to give bro a hard time. "Why'd you let your wife post this video of you. Aren't you kind of embarrassed..." kind of stuff. Poor kid... Mr. Rogers don't you feel bad now, making a little girl cry

Yep, Tebow by himself is better than the Washington Redskins. i just saw on the mike shanahan show that they were sorta speculating about the possibility of trying to draft peyton manning, if the skins don't win another game there's a shot at that. peyton manning might fix what ails this team, but i'm not even sure about that anymore.

As a QB, Tebow leaves a lot to be desired. As a person, I'll take him over a true villain like Michael Vick or a showboating underachiever like T.O. or Ochocinco any day.

That sounds okay, but it's a short term fix again. We could have drafted Cam Newton, but nooooo.Cowboys win, we lose. What's new? If we only had a kicker, and DB's, and an offensive line, and a running back, and a quarterback with receivers who will catch the ball. Is that too much to ask for? Crowfan , your Packers are good. My nephew is a Packers fan, so I did get to have fun and help him root for the Packers in their Super Bowl win.

Redskins win! I was a much younger man the last time I was able to say that.
Watching NBC's Sunday Night Football pre-game broadcast and I wanted to slap Dan Patrick with his Broncos/Tebow comment. "Well, you can't say Tebow won them this game," with everyone else mentioning it was a team effort. Golly gee, really? Alex Smith from San Fransisco doesn't play well and they win. I didn't see Carson Palmer win the game for the Raiders. Sam Bradford has been stinking it up for Rams fans. Micheal Vick this year? Ha! I don't think any quarterback can win a game without the running backs, lineman, receivers, their defense and special teams. But for the media and their view of the Broncos, it has to be Tebow who wins it for them or it doesn't matter.
I feel for the Broncos fans. Watching these sports media types has to be frustrating for you.

I feel for the Broncos fans. Watching these sports media types has to be frustrating for you. Yes. I saw Dan Patrick's comment as well. My first thought was, "He didn't watch the game." When Tebow goes 2 for 8, he's terrible and it doesn't matter if he wins in the end. When he throws great passes like he did yesterday, it's still not good enough. He didn't have a game winning drive at the end, just a game tying one, so it doesn't count. Yesterday's QB ratings: Tebow 95.4; Rivers 77.1. In Patrick's defense, the Denver defense is really good right now. Von Miller is the best draft pick we've had in decades.

Go EAGLES! This is our year! For an even bigger letdown than previous years. I hate to say that I saw it coming. No protection for Michael Vick and no defense against the run. "Dream team" my rear.

The Eagles have lots of problems. Frankly, I don't think that they should have let Kevin Kolb go. Michael Vick is not playing well; and he's a year older. Sky, do you think Andy Reid will be fired? Should he be?

In Patrick's defense, the Denver defense is really good right now. Von Miller is the best draft pick we've had in decades. Tebow's greatest thing is that he doesn't make terrible mistakes, at least not since the Lions game, and that's much more important than a lot of people, including commentators, realize. IMO, it's the biggest reason why the Packers are 11-0 right now. Whether Tebow does this because the coaches have drilled it in him, (ie Never ever ever throw an INT or force a pass into coverage, anything is preferable to that) or because that's just what he'd normally do, I'm not sure it matters. But anyway, that's why he has reasonably high QBRs despite never breaking 50% completion. It's also why he still gets a lot of flak, because "not making mistakes" isn't as exciting or spectacular as winging it all day. I still do agree with Elway that if he doesn't improve certain areas of his game, opponents will eventually figure out how to defend him and they'll never be better than mediocre. While I wince when I say it, none of Tebow's victories have been terribly impressive. They seem to have caught their last four opponents in the middle of bad slumps and/or severe injury issues. Even the Jets have looked crappy lately. But hey, you can only beat the opponents you have scheduled. As for another question in this thread on a totally different team, I can very easily see Andy Reid getting fired. Even back to when the Eagles were going to the NFCC games, he was never a good game manager, and never been able to get the best performance out of his talented players. I think this year has made that even more obvious.

I feel bad for all of you Eagles fans. Even when they were winning and going to championship games every year, they always seemed to be missing something. I could never put my finger on what it was, but I was never surprised when they lost the big game. Maybe it is Andy Reid. Then again, of all the divisions, it seems like the NFC East has a pattern of building teams around selfish skill players who worry more about contracts and hype than winning.

Should he be? I don't think Andy will be fired and I don't think he should be. Though his choice of defensive coordinator seems really poor. Vick was given too much money based on his play last season but he is a good quarterback. I think the problem is the offensive line. Next year I expect the Eagles to be back to the upper echelon.
