Seriously. I turned on CNN once today, and the only story was that people were mad about Facebook changing poopie. I log on to facebook, and, yeah, it's different. I'll deal. Except that the only on there to be "updated" about it that everyone else hates the new facebook. Screw you, social media, not because Facebook changed BUT BECAUSE YOU'VE MADE WEBSITE REDESIGN INTO AN APPARENTLY WORLD HISTORICAL EVENT!!!! This picture is the only good thing to come out of all that crap today:

The bitching is stupid, but I'm switching Facebook off.
I'm sick of arrogant companies and jackholes that lucked into being paper billionaires thinking I can't decide for myself what is best for me, and selling whatever information of mine they see fit to whatever bunglehump wants to buy it for a wooden nickel. I've given the kissoff to Facebook and Netflix and Apple can kiss my rim too.
So I won't whine and complain, I'll switch. End of story.

My page looks the same. I wonder why (unless the changes aren't that radical, or haven't kicked in for me yet?) Who knows, I only check in a few times a week. I haven't received any of those photos (like the vader one above) I've heard mentioned. But I have a friend who's cussing up the wind on there. And I don't care about that - if people wanna bitch, go ahead and bitch if you need to get it off your chest. But uh, you didn't pay for it right? I mean if you were paying $$ to use it it then I'd join in bitching right along with you. And seriously, one post would be enough. Scream, let it out... then drop it. Edit: In the time since I first wrote this, he's posted 2 more complaint posts. Maybe he's bored and has nothing better to do.

I go to Facebook to play wank-off games and keep track of foreign friends without paying an arm and a leg for long-distance/postage. Who cares about the "feed"?
Now the privacy stuff? I got that bitching.

Who cares about the "feed"? . Many of Facebook's customers do. A key component to software design is interface. It defines how usable the product it. Making large changes that drastically, even if temporarily, restrict the usability of the software is poor design and demonstrates Facebook does not understand its customers. Facebook seems to think it exists for its own purposes. It exists to bring a pool of consumers together and to sell access to that pool to suppliers. If it does something that limits the ease at which those customers can come together, it's not doing its job. Facebook's often, and seemingly random, changes to its front page limit its usability for little to no gain in its customer's eyes. Compounding that is Facebook has made several of these facelifts over a short period of time. Radically changing a design seems to indicate all previous attempts were crap. Facebook will start losing customers if it becomes too hard to use in comparison to the competition. Then it will be the next Friendster or Myspace, and all of Zuckerberg's precious paper billions will be worth the same as the rolls of Charmin I have awaiting my future wiping in the the holster next to my throne.

From the technical/business perspective, I completely understand that. My point was my personal opinion of the "horrid changes". If I want to find out how someone is doing in a detailed, up-to-the-minute manner, I contact them. And vice versa if they have something to share, they usually send me a message. If it's short minutiae or verbal diarrhea that's what I've got Twitter for. To be fair, I'm also coming at this from a perspective as one who does not text and basically uses her cell phone to actually make phone calls. For Facebooks "innovations", I just shrug my shoulders and find workarounds. If it gets to be too much, I will just move on to another free service. Google+ opened up and I already signed up for that.

I remember when I first joined Facebook. You needed to be in college to join.
I doubt I could care any less about these changes. I go on a few times a week and write stupid wall posts and then get bored and leave. I use it for basically the same purpose Sia does. I don't text either.

poopie, that's what Google, Amazon, Paypal, Yahoo, YouTube, and so on do too. Do I like it? Not really. Like I said, I really do get the privacy bitching.
Then again, there are far worse things then offers for interior design magazines popping up on my sidebar while I'm trying to come up with a foul word to use against Mummi on Words with Friends. I just ignore them.

Thanks for sharing that article. Interesting read, and it makes sense. But it begs the question: With my recent activity - family asking me about my trips to the doctor and the condition of my liver etc.... does this mean I'll start seing ads for the Vend-a-gut? Because that would be really cool!
