Oh man, how could I forget They Might Be Giants' "Flood"? I love that record. Also the Breeders and XTC, which were mentioned earlier. And oh, there's a great Georgia band called Five-Eight -- their album "Weirdo" I think came out in the early 90's and it's still one of my favorite albums to this day. And oh yeah, Ministry! And the first Nine Inch Nails album ("Pretty Hate Machine"), PJ Harvey (how could I forget her?), Bob Mould, Billy Bragg's "Don't Try This At Home," Sugar's "Beaster." Pixies, Sonic Youth, Lush. The usual suspects. Yeah, now that I think about it, the 90's was a pretty decent decade.

DIG by Adam Again Christian Funk with all the angst AHA! Confirmation! I mentioned it on page 2, but didn't think anyone else on this board would have ever heard of them. Adam Again (and Gene Eugene especially) were amazing. Untouchable as far as I'm concerned. And Dig was their perfect album.

A couple more I thought of:
Morrissey-"Vauxhall & I." Moz's best solo album by far IMO.
The Verve-"A Northern Soul." Richard Ashcroft's dark, druggy masterpiece.
The Stone Roses-"Second Coming." Initially slagged by critics and fans alike, this one has aged well.

Howzabout that one hit wonder, The Verve Pipe? I LOVED that song "The Freshmen."

I was talking about this with one of my old band mates, and he was very put out that I didn't show some love to Idahos own "Built To Spill" - Keep it a Secret and Perfect From Now on He also recommends the Flaming Lips (Do Clouds Taste Metallic and Soft Bulletin) and Good Morning Spider by Sparklehorse. There, I've conveyed the message.

And along with Adam Again, there was another group called The 77's that totally rocked me And Gene Eugene was in a band with Michael Roe from the 77's called The Stray Dogs I beleive The 77s deserved more fame then they got. Mike Roe is an amazing guitarist and frontman. But I think their best stuff came out in the '80s. The Lost Dogs was the side project with Gene Eugene & Mike Roe, and it was also very good. Gift Horse is their album that absolutely belongs in this thread.
