I'm with you GProopdog that Family Guy is much better than the current Simpsons. In its prime, The Simpsons might have been the best animated show ever. The Cleveland Show sucks. The first ten seasons of the Simpsons are lightyears ahead of anything Family Guy does now. The recent Simpsons though? Family Guy wins hands down.

As someone who has watched both Simpsons and Family Guy since the beginning, I disagree. Family Guy in its first three seasons against modern Simpsons? Yes. Family Guy now? I'd say they're both equal. They both make some really good episodes and some really bad ones. And the bad ones compared to each other are too close to call.
As for the good ones, I'd hold up the recent Simpsons episode Holidays of Future Passed as better than any episode of Family Guy. And I'm a Family Guy fan.

I'm not a Seth hater either. I just think the quality of his work has gone way downhill.
Like Torgo I loved the first three seasons of Family Guy. But that was a long, long time ago. And his other shows quite frankly just don't measure up.

I missed this last episode. I still enjoy "The Simpsons", it's not what it once was, but there's usually some laughs to be had to this day. And how could I not love Anthony Bourdain's guest appearance several months ago?
"Family Guy" never really grabbed me. It can be funny and I thought the "Star Wars" parodies were great, but too many jokes either go on way too long or go off on a whole other tangent, and Peter is still Homer with hair.

"...and Peter is still Homer with hair."
I don't think anyone will disagree with that. Peter and Homer are basically the same thing: Big dopes who usually screw up but are able to redeem themselves in the end.

The one up Homer has is that as the years went on he actually got younger. He's a Benjamin Button.
