This UK fan's had to put up with 10+ years of lousy region codes on the Rhino and Shout DVDs. About time it went the other way! ;D Try being a Laurel And Hardy fan in America! We finally got the sound films last year, still waiting on the silents.

Or just order direct from Amazon.com, that's what I do. You may be hit with a customs tax though.
I already own The Movie on DVD and VHS although a part of me wants to buy it on Region 2 just to register a sale.

Can anybody confirm if this is region locked, or if it could be played on a US player?

Got the blu-ray in today and can confirm it is region locked. I could not get it to play until I used a piece of region-free software to load it.
After looking at the contents of the disc I can also confirm its bare-bones with almost no extras.
The extras themselves were taken from a Gramercy Pictures promo videotape of the movie and they certainly look the part. Very ugly standard def analog stuff with a greenish hue to it. You get a 2 minute trailer and 5 and a half minute featurette from the tape. The still photo gallery is also likely taken from scans of a Gramercy movie promo package.
I got the blu for the movie though. Best quality we're ever likely to see of the film on home video. DTS-HD audio as well.

Thanks for the wee review Pablum, I have The Movie on VHS and DVD so I didn't fancy buying it again (not got a Blu-Ray player so it would be another DVD copy) yet part of me was tempted just to support the decision to release something MST officially over here.

Anyone know of other non-US MST3K DVD releases? I know there's a German dub of TM and an Australian release of 20th Anniversary edition.

I have the German dub. I've enjoyed it very much.... sitting on my shelf.
