Yep. My AL pick was wacky. Oh, well.

So maybe Detroit can do it?

These series have been awesome!
However, I'd really like to be fired up for the next round. If it's the Cardinals, Giants, Tigers, and Yankees, I'm going to start watching football. I'm so sick of those teams (except maybe the Tigers). Go Nats and O's!

It's going to be the Cardinals and Yankees in the World Series. I just know it. And that will be the point when I once again realize that baseball sucks.
The second wild card was introduced, in competitive rather than financial terms (I know it's mostly to get the extra money it brings in), in order to make it more difficult for the wild card team to win the World Series. Indeed, it is now less likely that the wild card team will win the World Series, because now there's a chance that the SECOND wild card team will win the World Series.

The one game play-in round isn't worth it in my opinion. I'm still of the mind that we just needed the East and West divisions of each league, but I'm fast becoming an old man.
And yes, it's been an excellent couple of night for baseball. With the exception of that Tigers blowout they've been right down to the wire. I'd just as soon see a Nationals/Orioles series, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah, if it's the Cardinals and Yankees, I don't think I'll watch. And that makes me very sad because it's the stinkin' World Series. How can I not watch?
If you asked me for my 5 least favorite MLB teams, 3 of them would be the Cardinals, Giants, and Yankees. If they're 3 of the 4 left in the playoffs, I'll be bummed. And also the biggest Tigers fan in Colorado.

Words can't express how much I hate the Cardinals. This is the 3rd season in the last 6 when they don't even deserve to be in the playoffs, yet keep winning after all statistical probabilities say they should lose.
I'm the biggest baseball nerd I know. I've never found anyone in my direct life who enjoys baseball more than I do. I'm the guy who will watch a Royals--Blue Jays game in mid-June for fun. So why do the baseball powers hate me so much? It's like MLB is trying to get me to quit being a fan. I'm done with this year's postseason now.
Frickin' Cardinals.

I am so depressed. I couldn't bring myself to watch tonight because I knew the Cockroaches Cardinals were going to reach way up their anal cavity and pull something straight out of their asses. I caught the score early when it was 6-0 and all I could think of was a game earlier this year when the Nats had a 9-0 lead after 5 innings against Atlanta and promptly lost the game. So I knew that lead was not safe. If the Yankees and Cards meet in the World Series, I'll probably root for the Yankees. And I can't stand the Yankees! The only team left that I have any feelings for are the Tigers. And that's only because my dad was a lifetime Tigers fan. I could really go for a beer or 12.

So if I don't have the Rangers or the Nationals... But WTH, Washington? Weren't they supposed to be one of the chosen few from the beginning through most of the season? Holy meltdown, Batman!

I don't know how much the decision to shut Strasburg down affected them, but I do think there's a tendency to be far too cautious with pitchers these days. The adherence to pitch counts is out of control. This seems like an extension of that problem, but I'm not a doctor and I don't know what would be best for Strasburg's condition. Still, how do you sit that guy at a time like this? Nothing is guaranteed for next year. And yeah, I'm pulling for the Tigers now for sure. Represent the AL Central!

Now the whole offseason is going to be about the Strasburg decision, rather than what a great season they had. Now with Derek Jeter suffering a broken ankle, I think it's going to be Detroit and St. Louis in the World Series.

I just want the Cardinals to go away. I want them to lose early and painfully. Unfortunately, they're like cockroaches. They won't go away and they won't stay killed. Even though I would love to see a Nationals-Orioles World Series, I need to be honest with my picks. NL: WC: Cardinals NLDS: Cardinals & Giants NLCS: Giants AL: WC: Baltimore ALDS: Yankees & Tigers ALCS: Tigers WS: Giants Just thought I'd point out that we have someone batting 1.000 so far.

I still have a shot at a perfect prediction. Thank you, Barry Zito!
I hate cheering for the Giants, but I'll be dead in my cold, cold grave before I EVER pull for the Cardinals.

It was great to have someone finally drive a stake into the Cardinals. Thank you Giants!
