I just watched the movie Pocahontas for the first time. For whatever reason, the phrase "Have you ever heard a wolf cry to a blue corn moon?" is stuck in my head.
Blue corn moon? Okay...
What is a blue corn moon? Is the moon made out of blue corn? Does the moon turn blue when wolves cry over corn? Flag on the blue corn moon, how did it get there?
I'm stumped. Can the professors of Sloane help me?

Much like the ending for Monster-A-Go-Go, where there was no monster, there is no blue corn moon. Sorry to be such a downer. But corn is a grass. And Blue Moon is a good beer...it's not Heineken, but it's not bad.

I decided to be pedantic and a killjoy, so I googled the definition. This took me to the wikipedia entry, which I would then recite, pretending that it was just something I happened to know.
...but apparently, the phrase has no meaning. The lyricist just "liked the sound of it." ...it means *nothing*! Grrr...

"And then...there was no blue corn moon!"
I looked it up too, but I wanted to hear made up definitions on the subject. Thanks for putting a bullet in the head of my already dead thread. Pfft.

I think it was dead when you admitted you'd watched Pocahontas. Please tell me there were children present.
No, wait, that came out wrong.

I could tell you all the tale of the Blue Corn Moon. It involves the tailgate of a moving pickup truck, my hinder, and a package of Blue Corn Doritos fried in Olestra.

I'm pretty sure some dead bodies were also involved.

Amazing how three posts can cause a conversation topic to do a 180.
